My husband and I came to Valdez to visit our daughter at her urging. I am not normally an outdoorsy kind of person and not very coordinated so I thought the trip would be too much for me physically.

As it turned out, the kayak trip was by far the most memorable experience I will likely ever have. Up close and personal with glaciers and navigating through the ice chunks that were broken off falling glaciers was beyond anything I could have imagined. Being there is so different than seeing the pictures.

We took a 2 hour taxi to Columbia Glacier and with a group of 8 and kayaked about 4 hour total. Saw wildlife up close and had a truly spectacular time. Our guide, Sarah was patient and so helpful. She encouraged us to kayak as a team keeping everyone together. She educated us on the waters, landscape, etc.

After being a hesitant participant, I am now an amazed visitor who will treasure this experience forever.

Thank you to our guide, Sarah and Anadyr for helping me do something I never thought I could do!

100% yes! Go with this Company! We had a fantastic time on the glacier lake paddle. We were a group of 2 adults and 3 kids. Our guide Adain, aka Goose, was fantastic and was really really great with our kids. All the gear provided was in great shape and the ride to and from the lake from the headquarters in Valdez was comfortable. I should also add that the booking process and customer service before the trip was top notch! When you want to kayak in Valdez, these are the people to go with!

My family had a fantastic time doing the Valdez glacier lake paddle. Our guide, Matt, is personable and highly knowledgeable about Valdez, the history of the glacier and outdoor adventures in general. We were a late add on and he accommodated our trip. The price point was reasonable for a half day trip. I highly recommend Matt and Anadyr if you’re in Valdez.

My husband and I did the Glacier Island day. It was AMAZING. We were lucky to have wonderful weather and amazing wildlife experiences. The part that truly made it special was the guide, Carrie, and the owner Scott. They were both knowledgeable and personable, answering questions and sharing some of their experiences. They were both thoughtful and really kind. They sent a comprehensive pack list and provided the rest of the equipment.
We will be recommending Anadyr to others for sure!

Had the best experience on the Columbia Glacier Kayak trip on 5/28. For someone who had never been in a kayak before the guide Aiden was super knowledgeable and kept everyone safe. Lauren and August were there to helping guide as well. Sorry August you getting stuck paddling with me but it was the best time. Can not wait to book again.

Quite honestly the most wonderful kayaking trip I've ever been on. We had the best time and our guide was very knowledgeable and capable. We felt safe at all times. Even when an iceberg calved right in front of us. It was so cool. The trip was phenomenal. One of the best experiences of my life. We saw a curious little seal that followed us around for a long while and popped his head up periodically during our trip. Super cute. This trip gave us the best of all worlds by giving us ice and greenery. And of course, you can't beat a waterfall of any kind.
On a side note:
On the way into Valdez you drive into a canyon that is surrounded by waterfalls. It is absolutely gorgeous. Next to those waterfalls is a beautiful hike (about 2 miles round trip) called goat trail and that leads to a raging river where you can relax your feet and have lunch. The hike is not difficult at all. There are elevation climbs, but nothing most anyone cannot handle in my opinion. Both things are a must do when you go to Valdez.
