We recently had the pleasure of visiting Alaska Husky Adventures, and it was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, the passion and dedication of the staff and owners were evident. Meeting the dogs was a highlight—these incredible animals are not only friendly and enthusiastic but also boast impressive credentials, with several having completed the grueling Iditarod race.

The summer mushing run was a unique and exhilarating experience. We rode in mushing carts that had no motors, which meant the only sounds were the gentle rustling of the forest and the rhythmic padding of the dogs' paws on the ground. This quiet, natural setting made the adventure even more magical.

It’s clear that the team at Alaska Husky Adventures genuinely loves their dogs and is committed to their well-being. The care and respect they show is inspiring, making the entire experience both thrilling and heartwarming. Moreover, knowing that my tourism dollars are directly contributing to the care and training of these remarkable animals and supporting their success in future races adds even more value to this unforgettable experience. There’s truly no better way to spend your money than on an adventure that also supports such a worthy cause.

This was by far the best experience during my trip to Alaska! I learned so much about dog sledding and got to meet all the awesome dogs! Very well run environment, the tour, the history of the Iditarod race, and the dog sled ride were amazing and worth the visit! Liz, Dane and Carrie were awesome guides. I definitely recommend this tour and experience.

Loved this experience! It was fun doing the "sled " ride. The trainers/ tour guides were friendly and very knowledgeable. They also accommodated our needs for our special needs daughter.

Great experience! We did the summer sled ride and had a great time, with Kaci leading us. It was so cool to take a sled ride and see the dogs in action, as well as learn about the Iditarod from Kaci and all the staff. The dogs were so impressive and also so cute and we enjoyed getting to pet and spend time with them! Definitely recommend this experience!

We had a great time learning about the Iditarod and the dogs. The summer dog sledding is worth it. The dogs are friendly and excited to run. The team is very nice and knowledgeable about the dogs and what it takes to race. It was great petting the dogs and riding in the 2 person sled. The items in the "gift shop" are cute.

I was looking so forward to this adventure and even thou I missed our reservation time by 30 min Matt was kind enough to easily reschedule. To fill in the time until our next tour He recommended to visit the Iditarod Museum in Wasella. A must for sure. Then our mush experience was top notch. Matt and his whole crew greeted us warmly and were so informative. They had personal experience in many mushing races. The dogs were amazing and treated us well. You can’t help fall in love. Thanks Motörhead for all your loving. Highly recommend this adventure

SOOOO glad I got the Alaska Husky Adventures brochure in the Log Cabin Visitor Center in downtown Anchorage. This was such a fun experience! Kaci, my tour guide and former Iditarod participant, was super friendly and super informative - I learned so much about the dogs, the training and the race. If you're driving from Anchorage, it'll take you about 90 minutes to get to Willow (the actual start of the Iditarod race), but it's an easy (and beautiful!) drive. I was originally going to take a dogsled tour in Girdwood, but I am SUPER glad the visitor center showed me other dogsled tour options. There are so many things to do in Alaska and I would HIGHLY recommend putting this tour on your list!

Absolutely AMAZING experience!! My husband said “I didn’t know this was on my bucket list but wow this was incredible” I cannot recommend this adventure enough.
We got to hang out w the dogs-stop a few times on the trail to let the dogs rest and for some pictures and then enjoyed some hot cocoa at the end to warm up. Didn’t feel rushed at all and feel like we got an authentic dog sledding experience.
This place is the “real deal” and not just for show and tourists. These dogs and mushers have run the Iditarod and other local races and you can see how much they love what they do- both the humans and the dogs!
Don’t look anywhere else, book this already, you won’t be disappointed!
