We are from Georgia and my bucket list included seeing the Northern Lights, so I came to Fairbanks Alaska to see the Northern Lights. I found Craig while searching for someone to take us to view the Northern Lights. I appreciated his story and I am so glad I chose Craig. He does research on the chances of seeing the Northern Lights and adjusts your scheduled trip, in order to better your chances of being able to see Gods amazing work!!! We went out at 9:30 pm and Craig took us to several places, using his knowledge to locate the best area to see the Northern Lights. At 2:15 am, still nothing. I of course was disappointed, but as we were heading back to our hotel, Craig pulled over and said, I think I’ve found them !! Sure enough there they were, as beautiful as I had imagined they would be. He took out his camera and started taking photos for us, he made sure my camera was on the proper setting to see them and the excitement began! He said, we will stay here as long as you want! Craig was as excited to see our faces when we got to see the Northern Lights for the first time, as he is doing his tours. Craig is also available to put you in touch with the best of everything you desire to do in Fairbanks !! My Alaska Adventures is the perfect company for any thing you want to do in Fairbanks !! Craig will make it happen and he offers suggestions. We wish Craig all the success God has to offer him. We had an amazing night and will never be able to thank him enough !!

Craig was extraordinary! He did his research ahead of time to improve our chances of seeing the Aurora Borealis and tailored the excursion to our wishes. He's a professional photographer and setup our camera to capture those special images. At no point were we rushed. On the way home he pulled over to see a sudden burst of Northern Light activity.
This was an amazing tour and we highly recommend it.

I can't say enough about the wonderful experience our group had on Tuesday night seeing the Northern Lights with our driver, Craig. He was very knowledgeable about the Aurora, the history of Alaska, and the local area. His background in photography was most helpful in assisting each of us to capture the perfect picture of the spectacular light show we were witnessing. Our group also appreciated that we visited several different viewing areas, rather than staying in one location during our night. It was such a memorable evening and the fulfillment of a dream of a lifetime to see such a breathtakingly beautiful display of God's creation.

We would give My Alaskan Adventures and Craig Stith 5 stars.
1. Cost. Do not rent a car and drive yourself. Once you leave Fairbanks there may be no cell phone service, no gas stations, no McDonalds, nothing. Craig’s tour was totally worth the extra cost compared to a big bus tour. Do not use the cheapest tour.

2. Tours. Craig has individual tours, minimum 1 person. Craig is from Fairbanks and is friendly and very knowledgeable about auroras and knows all the roads. If you take a big bus tour they have a set schedule. Craig is flexible and we picked from his suggestions to what we wanted to do (see auroras).

3. Auroras. To see really good auroras is pure luck, no guarantees. Fairbanks has auroras 100 days a year so you need 3-4 days to hopefully see auroras. The big bus tours are restricted to where they can stop to see auroras. We had 3 people and Craig could use his personnel SUV and could park anywhere. Craig uses real time US geophysical aurora data, cloud data, etc. so he find clear skies and could “chase” where the auroras could be seen.

4. Safety. In Alaska during the winter safety is the most important factor. Hypothermia, frostbite, etc. are a real possibility. Craig’s main concern was our safety. If you are not dressed appropriately Craig will not take you to see auroras. We took Craig’s suggestion and he rented the proper clothes for us. To see an aurora you have to be outdoors between midnight and 2:00am in the snow. We saw people from another tour dressed totally inappropriately for weather ( -20F, -30C). Most were wearing light to medium jacked and no snow pants. We were wearing heavy duty parkas, snow pants, snow boots, etc. Craig has 3 radios in his SUV, including satellite. In our drive to the Arctic Circle and Cold Foot he told us how to use them in case he becomes incapacitated, he also brought extra tires, gas, etc. just in case.
