DO NOT STAY HERE!! Horrible, Dirty, Smelled like Cigarettes!!! The windows were propped open with shims when we got there to air out the room I assume. There was a ash tray on the table. The screens had duct tape over the holes and the window frames were totally rotted through to the outside. The comforters looked stained & dirty. Cigarette burns on the 70's carpet. Hair on the bathroom floor. Bar owned by the same company 20 steps away from the lodging, you could hear very loud partying all night and then at bar time everyone revved there engines on the way out. We only stayed the one night because we had no where else to go, slept on top of flat sheet with everything else pulled off the bed. Covered up with our beach towels. Left the next morning due to terrible conditions, explained to the owner (very nice lady) she wrote us a check for the $50 deposit. NOT WORTH $10 PER NIGHT LET ALONE $130

I had often passed this place but was determined on this trip to check it out for a night. Wish it could have been SEVERAL! Though the row of cabins may look a bit plain outside, my cabin was EXCELLENT inside. EVERYTHING a person would need with some nice homey touches like REAL towels, REAL coffee cups, and nice linens. I love the knotty pine interior throughout and my unit came with TV/cable, full kitchen, coffee maker, mini fridge and everything I needed for a wonderful night. If you are the type who HAS to have "concierge" service for every little aspect, this probably is not your place. If you just want a nice pleasant private feeling, you will like these cabins. I dropped in looking for a room early and "on the fly," but my host was able to check me in and give me a key while I spent my day on Madeline Island and in Bayfield. Washburn on a Saturday after labor day gets pretty quiet early so road noise was not a problem. Everything was very clean and in good order. VERY pleased at the value and can't wait to come back again. Thank you for a great stay. Jim

Place is very run down outside. The office is connected to the main house and smells foul. Inside, my cabin not cleaned. Fecies dried to the toilet bowl. They did come clean it right away but, gross! Supposed to have kitchen items. One of our cabins had the stove but not a pot, pan, plate etc. The other cabin no stove but had plates but no silverware. Had to track owner down in a bar. Floors dirty and not vacuumed. Yet for all this wonderfulness, they charged 100bucks a night! I recommend staying in your car before here.

I was so tired at 11 o'clock at night I did not want to bring all my luggage onto the boat down at the marina so I decided to get a room close by. I am very picky but when I walked in this small little cottage I was rather impressed by the knotty pine walls and ceiling's . very small but it makes you feel like you're in your own house and the cabin getaway . everything was very nice and clean towels were hung up very orderly coffee maker refrigerator sink nice good size bathroom with no windows right off the highway what more could you ask for!! probably the most comfortable bed I've slept on and so very neatly made with good firm pillows with an air conditioner right next to my bed ,cable TV to!!! I will be back!!

I was a little nervous pulling in because the cabins looked small, but looks are definitely deceiving.
The inside comfortably fits a queen, a futon, a cute little kitchen with breakfast bar and a bathroom. Everything was clean, comfortable and cozy.
This was a great place to stay for our family of 5, and we really appreciated how good the food from the bar/grill was. The fact that this was pet friendly was a definite plus.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat next time we're in the area

We chose this Motel because from reviews it appeared to be what we wanted--a clean place near Apostle Islands National Lakeshore that would afford a comfortable night's sleep for a comparatively reasonable price. Other nearby places were booked; this Motel seemed sufficient for a one-night stay, especially since we needed two rooms for our party. We sent in a check (credit cards are not accepted) in advance to hold the room. When we arrived the person at the desk rather grudgingly agreed to show us our cabin. With the windows open it didn't seem bad although there was an underlying smell of cigarette smoke. When we returned to the room that night the smell of smoke was much more noticeable, especially in the bedding, and all the other flaws in our little cabin became evident. There is a bar on the property and the "music" from the bar went on until well beyond midnight. People talked loudly outside our cabin, which is right on Highway 13 so the traffic noise also makes sleeping difficult. The worn flannel sheets had holes in them, the lamp had been broken and glued back together and the carpet was frayed. The bed was uncomfortable and, even in our "large" cabin it was only a double bed. We paid around $125 for this cabin, which is among the worst accommodations we have rented in our extensive travels.

We stayed in cabin 1 on Aug. 3rd and found the furniture all needing replaced plus the mattress and pillows. There was a burn hole in one of the blankets and thought all the bedding didn’t look freshly washed.
It was clean for the most part but was a bit smelly. The windows were all open when we got there I think to hide the oder. I think the industrial carpeting may have needed cleaning.
The walls were freshly painted and had new ceiling tiles but there were big holes in the walls that weren’t patched and the bathroom door had a hole in it.
For what it was and for the cost it wasn’t a good value. I think when people are having trouble finding rooms this place will do. It had everything you might need including a kitchenette complete with microwave and coffeepot with a supply of stale coffee in a container. The shower was too small to really use as well.
Wouldn’t stay there again..

We paid $134.30 in advance for 2 nights for a tiny cabin. It was an unusually cold windy rainy day in October. The heater didn't work. The owner worked for 2 hours to fix it - going in & out of the room getting tools and another thermostat - while we sat on the bed waiting & freezing. Finally he called a friend who got it working. Did the owner offer us a free drink at his bar next door? No! Did he even say sorry for the inconvenience? No! But his friend did. ||||About the room, first the good news: It was clean. There was a TV, small microwave, fridge, coffee maker and coffee. Now the bad. It was so small that lying on the bed you could touch wall on one side and the bathroom door on the other side. There was no room for bedside tables but there was a small narrow shelf on one side that could hold a pair of glasses and a watch. If you use a c-pap device (for sleep apnea) there's no place to put it near the bed, so we brought the only chair in the room to the bed which then partially blocked the bathroom door. (There was no room for the chair on the other side even tho it was a small wooden chair.) There was no room to hang anything, just some hooks on the wall. The walls and ceiling were dark knotty pine which made the tiny room feel even more closed in. The linoleum in the bathroom (which had a small stand-up shower, no tub) was chipped and broken.||||The bed was the worst. The one bed, a double, was hard and highly uncomfortable. ||||After a long restless night my companion and I agreed to either find another place for the next night or go home. We didn't even care that we already paid for the 2nd night. Fortunately we nabbed a cancellation at a motel down the street. It was a normal hotel room but for only $30 more it seemed like a spacious palace. We put in the key in the office and left, never to return.
