One of the best museum experiences I've had. I learned so much! Being in the lower 48, you don't learn about what happened up here during the war and what the native population went through. I'm thankful that I took the opportunity to go and that this museum educates people about that happened.

So I just happened to be in Dutch Harbor...and of course visited the Museum of the Aleutians! I went intially to see a presentation by Fish and Wildlife, then returned to view the museum. Very informative in regard to the history of the island. Lovely artifacts and replications. Staff is super friendly. I went a little too close to closing time and there was still much to see.
I'm going back!

An interesting collection, collected by fans of their craft, and with the involvement of students. The exhibition shows the life of the Aleuts and their history from past times to the present day. The museum, although not large, has interesting specimens. For example, Aleut's suit for hunting and fishing.
