We had an incredible getaway this weekend! The inn was the perfect choice, especially since we brought our pup along. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay stress-free and enjoyable, even helping us find pet care near the ice castles and snowmobile rental spots (thank you Chrissy!!) The big, gorgeous backyard was a dream for our dog—he loved romping in the snow and playing fetch. The location couldn’t have been better, with easy access to the ice castles, skiing, and other winter activities. This was such a fun, hassle-free vacation, and we can’t recommend it enough for anyone traveling with pets!

Stayed 2 years ago and really liked it. This visit...not so much. Our room was freezing. 18 degrees outside and 63 degrees in our room! After 1st night asked for a duvet and maintenance to check in the heating. Told that it is computer controlled a s they adjusted it for us. Day 2, one good nights sleep. Day 3, back to low 60s in room. Visited reception desk to letvthem know and she said I was wrong. I invited her to come look at our thermostats and she declined saying she would check if her boss had made adjustments. As I try to go to sleep tonight it is 65 degrees and I am wearing wooly socks and a sweater. Not much I like less than to be too cold to get a peaceful night's sleep. 🙁

The website pictured a room with a fireplace as the premium sunrise room. However, not every "premium sunrise room" features a fireplace. After rereading the description we found it did not mention a fireplace so it was on us, however what is pictured was not what we got. The room featured a small window facing the sunrise with a single chair. The view was nice. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. We found the board games mentioned on the site missing pieces. The bed was uncomfortable for me but this may be personal preference.

Traveling as a group of 3, we chose the Sunset Hill House as we wanted a quiet, quaint experience while staying one night in New Hampshire. The area is beautiful. The premises was very pretty with good views of the White Mountains. We stayed in the Master Suite. The room was very spacious and we enjoyed the view. The pull out couch bed was not very comfy but we expected it to be like that. The King bed was nice. The patio was a little loud having the kitchen fan? right next to it. We enjoyed a glass of wine and wandered the premises taking in the Fall colors. We too encountered rude morning staff. Overall, we had a good experience.

Leaving a 4 star review which I think is generous, but fair because we didn't raise our issues to staff to attempt to resolve. Overall, I think the mixed reviews are appropriate. My take is that the property seems like they do a great job of hosting events but vacationers don't get as much attention. I couldn't get our TV to work and another guest could not as well. That was after staff went home for the day. We never found the connect four, vintage bikes or bocce. We were in quite a large room with very little furniture, which was weird. Your whole deal is watching the sunset but nowhere to sit to do that? It's just strange to not have places to sit or set your things and have so many reviewers point that out and not address it. We were also there for 80 degree days but the pool was closed with no explanation or forewarning. Bartender was great for the limited time he was there.

Our room was dirty and uncomfortable with a very odd bathroom. It had one counter with a wobbly faucet, exposed plumbing and no storage. For $300/night I would have expected more than plastic drinking cups and body wash in a beat-up old bottle. There was a beautiful view, but the windows were filthy. Don’t waste your money!

We were disappointed with our stay. It seems like Covid made them change to be less user friendly. When we stayed pre-Covid they had a great dinner and breakfast, not any more. Now you can buy $19 burgers to go along with your $9 draft beer or $15 mixed drink. Previously the golf was included in your room, now it’s $25/35 to play a crabgrass infested course and unputtable greens. At night we ventured out to look at the stars and sit by the gas fire pit. Seeing the stars was difficult with bright spot lights shining on us and the fire pit had no fuel. The bar opens at 5:00 and closes promptly at 8:00. Bring your own drinks, it’ll be cheaper and if you want to sit outside in the spotlight for an after dinner drink you will be able to. It’s too bad, because it is a very unique building with a great location but our party of 4 will not be returning, or recommending it.

Stay away. Definitely not what the picture or description said. We were put in a separate building (not the one advertised) and ended up with a double bed with a huge divot in the middle, when we asked for a queen. My back started hurting almost immediately, so we had to take the mattress off and put it on the ground. The room was small, shower was small and water lukewarm and windows leaked cold air. They even had dirty towels and an almost empty bottle of shower soap. The bed and room were so old and dusty that my wife had allergies all night.

Terrible experience which cost us sleep and time.
