The James Joyce is a local treasure. It’s the epitome of an Irish pub; friendly, good service, and a social gathering place. The owners have made it this way, and they will come by to meet you and welcome you. They have events like the upcoming “1/2 way to St Patrick’s Day”, and it’s absolutely worth coming by for a pint. Sláinte🍻

Bartender is rude!! Came in alone to wait for the train and he threw the coaster at me!!! I’m Hispanic female alone. Made me feel so unwelcome!!! If you don’t speak they’re language, you won’t feel well

If you’re looking for an authentic Irish pub in the Chicago area, this is THE ONE! James Joyce offers just about every Irish beer and whiskey you could ever want (and more you’ve never heard of), and the atmosphere feels just like being in a cozy pub in Ireland. The service is impeccable and friendly. There are many regulars at this pub, and it’s easy to see why! Everyone who entered was warmly greeted as if they were a close friend. If you get a chance to talk to part-owner Colin or his brother and bartender Emmet who hail from Ireland, you’ll be delighted by their lovely Irish accents and their endearing and playful charm. Do yourself a favor and have a pint of Guinness at James Joyce. It’s a true Irish gem of greater Chicago!

A nice little piece of Ireland away from Ireland. Love the Pilser Urquell draft tower here. It's my new favorite draft beer to drink when I come here.

An old establishment, can't go wrong here. It's always an interesting crowd of all ages anyday of the year, especially during the holidays and St Patricks Day. Decent beer selection as well on draft. Also pet friendly. I've had many moments here.
