If our visit is anything to go by, this place gets very busy around 16:30 on weekdays. But it was mostly locals that we saw, which is cool, because I guess you'd call us locals too, since we live a mile away.

The inside of the place is a dimly lit shrine to tacky stuff. It's wonderful and very Rt. 66.

Our bartender was very polite and very solicitous; she gets two thumbs-up from us.

We had the rib tips, which were astounding. The barbecue sauce and the chili might be a bit spicy for some tastes.

I'm not one to write reviews. I was working in the area and was looking for a place to have a cigar and bourbon. Went two nights in a row, and the place is awesome. The owner, Ron, is great and was bartending and serving while I was there due to a staff shortage. The other server was overworked and a little ornery but efficient. Cigars, bourbon, and food were great. Had the smoked wings and burnt tip taco. Excellent. Overall, my kind of place. Just be patient and open-minded if you go.

This place is pretty awesome. And the food is really really good. If you like BBQ and spicy food, this is the place for you.

I had the Tijuana Hot Dog and the peanut butter habanero cookie. So good! Great drinks, too. They play movies here, too. The night we went they were playing a live AC/DC show. It was pretty cool. We were hoping to see a horror movie, but that's the next night.

Gotta check this place out. It's a Berwyn gem. BERWYN!?!?

Cigars and Stripes is a place like no other—you could pick up this bar and drop it anywhere on Chicago’s north side, and it would fit right in! It’s the perfect mix of wrestling and horror, with a dash of quirky charm that keeps you coming back. The food is top-notch: the wings and burgers are hands down the best in Berwyn, and the Tijuana Dogs are surprisingly delicious. Every item on the menu is a winner, and they keep things exciting with limited-time specials like smoked meatballs and chili. There's also a solid selection of beers to wash it all down.

The service is just as outstanding. Kelly and Kathy go out of their way to make you smile and keep the vibe fun. And Ronnie, the owner, is truly a one-of-a-kind genius who brings this place to life! Be sure to stop by on theme nights for campy horror movies and wrestling events—you won’t regret it. Cigars and Stripes is the ultimate gem of Berwyn!

Excellent joint! I enjoyed the wings, rib tips, baked beans, and potato salad. The owner, Ronnie, was a great guy! My buddy and I talked with Ronnie about the wrestling business and some of his stories. When I told him that I was visiting and heading to Midway Airport later that evening, he insisted on giving me a bottle of the Ronnie Lottz Route 66 Sauce. Fantastic guy! I highly recommend supporting this local business!
