If you are looking for a quiet place to worship. This is not the church for you...and that's OK! To each their own 🙂 I've been raised Catholic my entire life - Catholic school, church, etc. and honestly...I was getting bored. Vale has re-energized my love for God. It's incredible how every Sunday Lead Pastor Shawn preaches on a topic that is relevant to me in that day/month/year, etc. He has an wonderful gift we are so lucky to have in Bloomington-Normal. The people are very welcoming too. Vale is truly a one if a kind church and I'm so thankful a friend invited me to join her 6 months ago 🙂 Thank you for giving energy back into my faith 🥰

Best church I’ve encountered. I’m grateful God put Vale in my path because they’ve helped me grow so much closer to him. My life took a turn one year ago and I look forward to the strengthening of my faith. Such an amazing church I’ve driven 3:30 hours just to attend because I moved far away. Thank you pastors, worship team, and other staff.

If you haven’t heard Shawn, Lead Pastor, preach then you’re missing out! He is genuine, relevant, fun and thought provoking while sharing the gospel.

Kevin, Youth Pastor, is someone my 15 year old son and I have recently had the pleasure to meet. Royal (son) was to be baptized and Kevin met with us and was kind, respectful, engaging and genuinely interested in Royal’s thoughts on being saved and him as a person. It is difficult to express how very much I appreciated their interaction.

Royal, who is slightly autistic, thoroughly enjoyed their talks, also. Even to the point where he went from insisting Pastor Shawn baptize him to allowing Pastor Kevin to baptize him!!!

Thank you, Vale! It’s a pleasure being a part of such a loving congregation. It does not go unnoticed all that you offer and the appreciation to volunteers and staff is well deserved.

I haven’t been to church in a few years and I’ve really been studying and researching .. and my wife suggested I try it again .. so I did .. and it was a 1/2 hour sermon on tithing. I was disappointed but not surprised. I understand that all churches have to get donations to survive, but I felt like at least the last time I heard a sermon about giving $ to the church they at least made it quick and painless, maybe a sign or a donation box, definitely not a whole 1/2 hour sermon on it ..
the timing was bad .. its the holidays and you told us to give more to the church? … not to our fellow man or the poor or homeless but give to the church … the church that is clearly doing just fine .. 5 minutes before he started talking he said they gave 75,000 to a country to help build a church .. and the pastor was there .. in the pictures .. how did he afford that? Is that why you need more?
And then on top of asking for money we got to hear all about his Apple Watch and how god blessed him with it.
I think it’s safe to say that I will keep searching for answers on my own. When the scripture about Jesus saying that there is more happiness in giving than in receiving was misquoted as if Jesus was talking about giving to the church - I sorta mentally blanked out. Jesus was telling people that there was more happiness in giving .. to needy people .. not to pastors with Apple Watches.
It’s sad because I’m searching pretty hard right now for answers and after stepping foot in church for the first time in a long time , all I heard was - give us money .

Love this church. The family of Christ there is so loving and supportive. Their worship service is the best in all of Bloomington Normal. The new pastor, Shawn, is the best spiritual leader I have ver heard.

I love this church. I was scared at first because it's such a big church. But Ted the pastor is an awesome straight forward pastor. I love how they go into detail about the scriptures and he leaves you not wondering of what was teacher for that day. The church brings you so much joy and it's just so awesome. I really can't explain it much more. But what I can say is. Go and find out for yourself. This church has changed my way of thinking and has gotten me closer to the Lord. This church has blessed me and my family.
