Ever since Marc Huber was brought on by Beach Park, I have noticed a significant difference in the quality of service. Tracy is also very helpful. They go above and beyond most other jurisdictions. Yes, they can be demanding (which is good for the city), but they are also willing to allow us small businesses to work and thrive.

Beach Park does have tons to clean up, but I'm glad that at the very least they respond to emails, answer phone calls, etc. Most jurisdictions can't even do that well.

Wonderful office and they are always willing to help. I have gone to the office, called and even emailed them and the service is always fast and professional. I have put in a few complaints against my neighbors for code violations. The village employees were quick to handle the problems like junk in the back yard or parking on the grass.

My review would have been much higher a couple of years ago. Beach Park the Village of Rural Spirit. Not anymore. This village is trying to move up to the level of hmmmm.... Waukegan? Zion? No, Zion is putting some effort into upgrading their city. And Waukegan is as well. Art Center, Genesee Theater, CLC. Nope not us. Used car lots, gas stations & car repair businesses. It's turning into a hole.
The south entrance to Illinois State Beach Park is right there and what they want to showcase on Sheridan Road is THAT? No restaurants, no entertainment. SROs, McDonalds, CVS & a liquor store.
For 25 years, I loved living here. Now? All they care about is raising revenue through sales tax and enacting zoning decisions based on the same. Take your family somewhere else. I thought when they leveled the nasty drug bar we were heading in the right direction. Having attended zoning commission meetings, I see I was mistaken.
