My wife and I did a private lesson with Noah on July 17th. The lesson consisted of some land training, exit/reentry/paddle strokes and maneuvering on Blue Mesa Reservoir, and a Class I/II run down the Gunnison River. Noah is an excellent instructor. He was very detailed in his instruction, answered all our questions, and demonstrated everything we needed to learn. Once we got on the river he was not only a great instructor, but a very enjoyable paddle buddy as well. The equipment he provided was in great condition and we learned a lot by trying the different packrafts.

My wife and I had an excellent intro course with Noah. The day started on a shady beach where we covered the basics of packraft equipment, technique, and safety. We then had an easy entry into calm water to practice strokes, balance, and wet reentry.

From there we were able to drop straight into the Roaring Fork, which features a perfect mix of calm floats and beginner rapids. So that we could practice entering eddys and choosing lines. There was one larger rapid, which Noah made sure we were aware of and guided us to portage around and practice scouting.

Spent a lot of a time on the water, was a ton of fun. This isn’t just an instruction course, it was also a great way to experience the river.

Noah was incredibly welcoming and renting through the outfit was seamless and convenient. They use Alpacka rafts, which are the best available (made here in CO). And Noah was more than happy to cover equipment features and maintenance.
