Summer 2021...I've gone out on 4 guided riding trips w/Tony who Is Very accommodating & observant to All rider's needs! Both Rides are Nature at its Best..
Two on the 4 hr senic ride & the 2 hr ice caves ride (yes, Ice is in the caves cause a hiker looked while I was in saddle) Enjoyed the Beautiful Views & is close to get to in the Pagosa Mountains, Calms the Soul during these times & Nature Brightens my Spirit!
Can't wait till Fall..

Do not go on a trail ride unless you are very comfortable on a horse. Also don’t go if you are afraid of heights. You ride along the edge of a cliff. Note-if you want a helmet bring your own.

Our entire group was beginners, ranging from first time being on a horse to some experience. The teenager leading us was clearly an experienced rider, but not professional or safe (for example, being too far ahead to hear us yelling to her). The others in the group also left saying that they would never do that again.

My daughter’s horse kept stopping to snack, then gallop to catch up to the group. Mine would do the same to match. A little at the beginning then every few minutes on the way back. Not my first trail ride, but I have zero experience galloping…I was in mom hell feeling like I was holding on to save my own life and just praying my daughter would continue doing the same, because asking the teenager to handle us walking back did not seem like a good option.

If this sounds dramatic and you are fine being on your own on a galloping horse, then go for it. The land is amazing.
The company was responsive to my feedback so I don’t want to trash them, but I need something to be in all these 5 star reviews here that says: if you are beginner, do not go.

Highly recommend for horseback riding around Pagosa. We did the half day 4 hour ride which ended up being closer to 3.5 hours. It goes through a beautiful landscape, and the horses seem to be very well treated and taken care of (so important!). Cody was a great guide who makes sure everyone is taken care of. We’ll definitely book a ride next time we’re in town ?

Our ride was great! Horses well behaved, didnt try to eat grass on the trail and the scenery was magnificent. Wranglers could have been more talkative, but well worth the money.

An absolutely beautiful ride with very knowledgeable guides. The horses are very well behaved and they know the trail well. It was interesting and fun, I would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone.

One of the highlights of our trip here in Pagosa. Our tour guide Cammy was very sweet. We all chit chatted and peaked over a massive cliff. Would definitely recommend the trip up if you have the time. Shoutout to Lester, Newt, Cheeseburger, and Ol’ C! Yeehaw!

Cody and his wife were absolutely awesome! Super accommodating, attentive and did everything they could to make our ride a joy, which it was. My 6 year old had a blast, Cody made him feel special and ensured he had the best of experiences. I could not recommend this company more. The trail is wonderful, views are amazing and I felt like I was riding with old friends. Thank you!!!
