This is going to be a bit lengthy but I tend to do that when I like the service.

We booked Whale watching - day 1, and Glacier watching along with kayaking - day 2. Both the days started around 8:30 AM where Scott the owner and the captain picked us up. He is very knowledgeable, approachable and also honest in my opinion when you seek advise.
Day 1 - Whale watching. We were only 4 people (Two ladies from Texas, my wife and I) apart from Scott, so there was no rush. It was raining the whole day. I did watch whales atleast a half a dozen times in the past and the biggest was a 6 or 7 whale pod. But this trip was memorable. It was atleast 40 - 50 whales and we spent nearly 4 hours with the whales. While returning we stopped by a beach and spent some time walking as it was scenic. We returned back by 4:30 PM with the best experience.
Day 2- Glacier watching and kayaking - Kelly who is another Captain joined along with Karen who is a local photographer along with Scott who took my wife and I for glacier watching. The day started with rain so Scott did warn us about possibly of not kayaking, but he did compensate for it by taking us to a couple of other nice places on the way. We ended up seeing a Glacier, couple of waterfalls, landed on some island to see salmon and bears (no luck there), however saw bald eagles, and bear footprints along with tasting wild blueberries. We saw a lot of small icebergs which were beautiful and Kelly was steering the boat patiently making multiple rounds around each so we could take photos while Scott was explaining the location to us.

The two days trip ended to be a memorable one. Thank you Scott and Kelly

My June 2021 tour of Le Conte Glacier was so amazing! Scott is really friendly and knowledgeable, the glacier was calving off enormous icebergs--and because the Tongass Jem is designed for the ice, we were right up in the midst of the action. I can't describe how beautiful the icebergs are--with their own blue green light and impossible seeming shapes. Definitely not to be missed on a visit to Petersburg!

Amazing trip to the Le Conte glacier near Petersburg, AK. The captain knew the history of the area, the geological aspects of glaciers and he knew where to take us to see the most incredible ice bergs and then up to the glacier to watch enormous pinnacles of ice fall into the sea. Lots of seals on icebergs surrounding us. The boat was warm and comfortable, but we could go out on to the deck to see the ice and hear the cracking and thundering of the glacier as it moved. Trip of a lifetime to see this incredible spectacle. My family and I highly recommend this experience and this company!!!!!

We had a fantastic experience with this tour. We have traveled to Patagonia, Iceland and the adventure we had here at Petersburg with Tongass kayak and the guide Scott was one of a lifetime. Everything was tailored to us, he picked us up at the house we rented soon after arriving from airport for half day tour to Le Conte glacier. We have an 11 and 16 year old and spend as much time as we wanted to watch the animals around the glacier and look for all the baby seals!. We then did a full day which is supposed to be 8 hrs and he made it 11 because we wanted to keep on going. We went kayaking to a beautiful isolated spot (felt super safe with his knowledge) and then whale watching at Frederick sound. He searched for the best spots to see multiple whales, sea lions, seals and great spots for the kids to spot other sea life. He was so kind and thoughtful, he took us to get groceries before they closed the shops, took us to get breakfast and coffee in am and then let us use some of his cookware to use at our place to cook a perfect salmon. Just amazing customer service and wonderful experience. Will be back !!!

Our three day guided trip with Tongass Adventures was incredible! We traveled with a large group of middle schoolers, which may have been challenging for another company, but Captain Logan put together a trip that surpassed all our expectations! He was extremely professional and friendly, provided tons of interesting information about the local environment, and helped ensure we felt safe and cared for while in the backcountry. Will 100% be booking another trip with Tongass Adventures for next summer.

Just got off a 7 hour trip whale watching with my wife and I, Scott, and 4 others. It was fabulous and best day of our vacation. There were hundreds of whales swimming around and often the whales came very close to the boat as we sat still in the water. The krill came to the surface so many whales were feeding on the surface right next to the boat. Pretty thrilling. A great way to spend the day and well worth the price.
