Absolutely wonderful stay! My boyfriend and I spent 2 days there for New Years and had the best time. It was comfortable, romantic, secluded and perfectly clean. The fireplace was a perfect ambiance, the town of Mariposa is close with restaurants and little window shops. The kitchen was stocked fully with pots and pans and a BBQ we used to cook one night. A little touch I thought was perfect was no TV in the living room which made it much more intimate. There were robes available which was the perfect touch of comfort. The bed was comfortable, the entire place was roomy and open. We spent the evening on the patio looking at the stars which was like looking into a diamond cave, we have never experienced something like that before! The drive to Yosemite is about an hour. We met Mark on our drive out and chatted, he was so sweet and kind and made sure we were comfortable! We were greeted by two of the cutest dogs, Rosie and Super Truck who were the sweetest greeters.
The most romantic place we couldn’t have asked for more!

My experience at the Moonstone was the definition of luxury- I FELT different in this gorgeous space, enmeshed with the surrounding nature. In particular, the deck overlooking the Wild and Scenic Merced River is a place I never wanted to leave. The owners have curated every aspect of these stunning buildings to ensure your experience is unparalleled. I hope to return in the future and bring my parents!

The property sits at the end of a private road at a bow in the Merced river where you can look up and down the river canyon for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The rooms are accommodating, the kitchen and dining area is swanky and open, and the outdoor spaces offer surprises like a traditional copper Japanese soaking tub and a "you'd think you were in Italy" fire pit and pizza oven.

For an extra level of relaxation, local chef's can even come out and prepare delicious meals during your stay.

Moonstone is such a beautiful, calming and peaceful oasis! It’s right by the park gate and feels so open and airy, a stark contrast from the other lodging options in the immediate vicinity of Yosemite Nat’l Park. The expansive views from its perch above the Merced river and the rustic-chic architecture infuse this place with a deep sense of tranquility.

This place is incredible! Beautiful setting looking over the Merced River. A personal chef is available to create in either the indoor or outdoor kitchen, with a cool grill and pizza oven. Hot tub, yoga studio. One of the few private facilities to serve the Yosemite park. The owners are yoga instructors and mountain guides, who are qualified to plan your Yosemite experience. A perfect group or family retreat vacation facility. Highly recommend Moonstone!

Exquisite. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations. The home is ideally situated along the river and nestled into the hillside. The yoga studio is bright, simple, and roomy yet cozy. The suggestion to hire a chef for dinner was genius as it not only gave us more time outdoors to play in the evening, but we also got to hang with fabulous people. All the people we interacted with, from the agent, owner, chef, and maintenance, were super cool and shared a wealth of knowledge and tips that helped us during our stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms were as pictured: bright, comfortable, and fresh. The kitchen areas, indoors and out, were well designed for practical use and socializing. The common areas have views and plenty of sitting and mingling space for our group. In addition to adults, we had three kids ages 6-12, and they loved it as much as we did. In summary, this is a unique property at the gateway to Yosemite, and it was well worth the cost for us. I can't imagine how you would regret staying here.

This is the best way to visit Yosemite! Such an amazing house in the most beautiful location overlooking the Merced River. Perfect for easy park access while also providing a relaxing getaway. It is so clear while staying there that lots of thought went into every detail. The owners also provided fantastic recommendations for local services. Would highly recommend the Moonstone to anyone visiting the area.
