I absolutely love this place! I get the turkey tips every time I come and they have never disappointed. Today, I got the chicken wings and mac and cheese. I tried the mac and cheese a while ago and I was not impressed. My sister in law said it was the absolute best so I decided to give it another go. Man, I'm so glad I did! It was absolutely and the cheese wasn't overpowering. The chicken wings were delicious as well, but had a little too much sauce to my liking. Next time I'll get it on the side. The staff was very welcoming and courteous. I can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu!

Okay, so I’ve been driving around and living near this restaurant for a while. Today, I had a taste for some good ole fashioned soul food, like grandma use to make back in South Carolina!
1) They put no meat in the greens or cabbage…it tastes better.
2) The rib plate……with potato salad…..FIRED MY GRANDMOTHER FROM COOKING!
3) The love and interpersonal feeling you get when you walk in the door. I felt like I’d known the family since since I was a child. They’re amazing people with lots of love that they share with all patrons through their conversations, interactions and food! Best restaurant I’ve eaten from in the entire Midwest! Best people I’ve met here as well. That says a lot beings I was brought up in Southern Hospitality. They’ve got the sauce…..no smoke! Wish I could give 10 stars.

Move over BD, there's a new pit in town! They are doing it right at Wood N' Hog in Champaign. I got the large BBQ tips with fries and their mixed sauce. Once I took my first bite I forgot all about getting a picture! 🤣 Just means I'm going to have to go back and try again! Anyone who's read my reviews knows I'm about cleanliness and Mike and his gang got that on lock down. Portions were big and the meat was perfect. Good smoke, juicy, and tender. Sauce was good as well but I felt it lacked the heat I was expecting so I'll kick that up next time. 😅 My friend got the pulled chicken sandwich special which quickly took priority over our conversation, lol. There wasn't a crumb left I noticed.
BONUS: The OWNER, Mike, came over asked us how it was and how do we feel it could be improved! (I know, right?!) This is someone who cares and cherishes the customer experience and it shows. He wrote down our thoughts and thanked us. Y'all need to stop by check this place out. It's the real deal. "All smoke, no joke"

When we walked in the person at the register walked away. We waited a couple minutes and then yelled hello which was enough for others to look at us from the kitchen. Waited a few more minutes and gave up so I have no idea how the food is. I won't try it again after that lack of recognition. They could have said we'll be there in a couple minutes, but nothing but silence.

I went to the one on University Avenue over by the motel I was staying in for the weekend to get takeout for dinner. The place was clean and looked really nice. The flames they had painted on the bathroom doors looked awesome almost like something my dad would paint. I wish I would've taken a picture. The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The rib tips were especially good. The tips and legs or tips and wings is what I'd recommend as far as dishes go and they weren't on the list below.
