This place is absolutely beautiful! Our room was on the end of the hotel facing the water and we had large windows on two connecting walls. The bed was really comfortable and I realized the bathroom floor was heated. Loved that. We ended up going to dinner late so we just went to the room with the bar. It still felt upscale even there and the food was great.
Loved our stay and can’t wait to go back!

We had a great experience. The staff was so welcoming, kind, and accommodating. The building was beautiful and well-maintained. Our dinner and breakfast at Salt was amazing. Most important, we hosted a family birthday party there, and it was perfect. It was memorable. Thank you so much!

My mother and I had a truly wonderful weekend at the Wentworth-by-the-Sea! A special thank you to Sophie and the entire front desk crew for being so accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. The "Fallafal" at SALT was perfectly cooked and delicious. The convenient shuttle to downtown Portsmouth was a great perk, and we loved relaxing by the lovely fireplace in the lobby. Gorgeous views from our balcony room made it even better! Highly recommend.

Had a great girls weekend at Wentworth By the Sea! All of us had Spa treatments throughout the afternoon that we all enjoyed. I had a Swedish massage with Amanda, and it was amazing. The space was great- indoor hot tub and pool. There is also an outdoor “jacuzzi” that had the makings of a great space to hang out, but it hasn’t been renovated, it was not clean, and the jets were average. The Tea Room was a nice waiting area, with refreshments available. We had dinner at Salt, and it was spectacular! Ambience was 5 star - Food was yummy, and service by our waiter Chris was top notch. We appreciated a nice quiet round table, and able to hear all conversations. Cocktails were delicious too. We appreciated the staff allowing us to make ourselves at home in the lobby where we hung out and played cards after dinner. The hotel rooms are average, unfortunately I found to be dirty in some areas. Beds were very comfortable which made up for the dust : ). Overall we had a great stay. Location was nice, service was great. I agree with the 3 star rating.

This was great for a weekend away. Friendly and accommodating staff. Our room was comfortable and heating floors in the bathroom was an awesome touch. They have a shuttle service that will take you into Portsmouth which was great for dinner and a nightcap. Will definitely be coming back!

I recently stayed at Wentworth by the Sea with two friends for a girl’s trip. We were there for two nights. Our stay was lovely. We were able to check in a little bit early. We used the complimentary shuttle to take us back and forth into Portsmouth to see a show one evening. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Our package included an breakfast allowance (we had room service both mornings - the food was wonderful) and two free cocktails. Here’s the part that rubbed us the wrong way. Two us ordered cocktails off their drink menu and one ordered a Baileys on the rocks. We stayed and had a second round. When the bill arrived there was a food charge on it - 2 charges for $1.50 for ice for the “on the rocks”. Really? The other drinks had ice in them. There are ice machines on each floor and ice buckets in each room. It’s not a huge amount of money but just seemed ridiculous. I know it’s a silly thing but it left a sour taste on a nice evening. Other than that we had a wonderful time.

Overall great hotel. We loved all the small and large touches. Highlights include a heated bathroom floor, smart TV, outdoor hot tub, complimentary hot coffee downstairs in the morning and incredible room service. It's a beautiful building with amazing staff. ||We would return!||Room for improvement is that ropm cleaning came relatively late, we signed up for a winter escape package but only got our welcome gift when we asked for it at checkout, our mattress is a bit sinky, towels a bit rough, longer hours for the outdoor hot tub (only open from 6-10 pm), and a bidet would be nice.

An amazing aspect of the hotel is that they provide a free shuttle service to Portsmouth, both drop off and pick up. Excellent restaurant in the hotel. Wonderful for dinner and breakfast. Easy parking around the building. Wonderful views from our room windows. Very nice staff !
