Only in Illinois, home of the worst roads in the world, do you have to pay a toll to drive across a bridge that was built originally as a railroad bridge 127 years ago (as of 2024), is one lane wide so motorists have to be sure the way is clear before getting onto the bridge, and has a wood plank driving surface. Illinois is the one of the worst states in the US for bicyclists as well, since the roads never have paved shoulders.
