I had a wonderful stay. If you're looking for a laid back easy going stay this is the place for you. Retro rooms and comfortable beds. Pool is nice with surrounding rooms. Great for large groups. You have the whole place to yourselves. If you're looking for fancy fancy this is not for you. If you want peace and quiet and just your group this is it. (Stay June 26-28)

And LOVE the vibe of The Monkey Tree! Mid Century Modern to perfection! The room was spacious, awesome outdoor pool and lounge area! I enjoyed the jacuzzi and plunge pool in the mornings! There’s outdoor seating and a lounge….I love the fact that it was a contactless check in. There was a private code to enter the facility and private code to enter my room. I did t have to worry about getting locked out! Ample towels and separate pool towels exemplify Avantstays understanding of a traveler’s needs.

The pool area is spectacular. Such a great ambience. Would definitely stay here again. The staff were very helpful when getting into the rooms. It is close to everything. They even have bikes to go exploring. You can barbecue in the pool area which is really cool.

Our family took over the whole place for a long weekend to celebrate a senior member turning 90.
We had a great time. The place is wonderful!
Well preserved retro 60s enclave in wonderful Palm springs.
Downtown Palm springs/ Palm canyon drive is a short hop away by bike (4 bikes provided).
A note on biking from the monkey tree: get off racket club Dr and into the neighborhood streets for a calmer, safer, cycling experience around town.

This place is actually a really cool place perfect for one person, couples or small family. The only issue that we had was the plumbing at some point we were not able to turn on the hot water because it was shaking so hard. The grounds are well kept and the pool was heated which we needed this time of year. Staff was super helpful when we ran into an issue and quickly fixed it. I would come back for sure!!

The pictures look way better online. This hotel is a bit rundown. The furniture in my room is a bit banged up and the drapes are not black out drapes nor could I close them.

Check in is confusing and there is no onsite staff. I think the only thing good about this place is the outside and the serene pool.

I will not recommend or return. I wanted to like this place so much!

I loved my stay here. There isn't a traditional front desk, but once I figured out how to contact them and got our code, it was no problem (I recommend just downloading the app). This hotel perfectly captures Palm Springs in 1960 in all the best ways. I adore mid-century design and this place embodies it!!

As far as amenities, the kitchen was fully stocked with a microwave, stove, oven, knives, dishes, pans and silverware. Our bed was spacious and comfortable and we loved having our own patio. We used the sauna, cold plunge pool, large pool and hot tub, and I love that there is a ping pong table, and gathering space with board games and a photo booth!

If you're looking for an adults-only trip that is Palm Springs vibes, this is your place!!

On a positive note: the grounds were very pretty, and the rooms were what we expected. We enjoyed sitting outside with a cocktail and nice view.||However, service is nonexistent, which I guess could be fine if things go right. Unfortunately, things didn't go right for us, and it was a real problem that no one was on site at the hotel...ever. Not when we tried to check in around 9:30PM after a delayed flight and had nearly-dead phones so we couldn't retrieve our booking number...not when the power went out at the hotel for 12 hours and we needed information...not when the keypad on our room malfunctioned and we were locked out for the better part of a day. We were among three patrons (that we are aware of) whose keypads malfunctioned and couldn't get into our rooms. ||While a lot of things about this place are lovely, service was quite literally nonexistent. There were folks who would text or call back eventually, but they had no power to veer off-script when things went awry.
