Restaurant Review: Adobe Grill - La Quinta Resort & Club

During my recent visit to La Quinta Resort & Club, I had the pleasure of dining at Adobe Grill, a vibrant spot known for its Mexican cuisine. The experience was a delightful blend of flavor and ambiance, making it a memorable part of my trip.

First and foremost, the Mexican food served at Adobe Grill was quite good. Each dish showcased a balance of traditional flavors and contemporary twists, reflecting a deep respect for Mexican culinary heritage. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the presentation of each dish was visually appealing, adding to the overall dining experience.

The margaritas deserve a special mention. They were not only tasty but also well-crafted, with a perfect balance of sweetness and tang. It's a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a classic Mexican cocktail with a modern flair.

Regarding my likelihood of revisiting, I would certainly say yes. The Adobe Grill offers a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience that calls for repeat visits. However, in the spirit of honesty, while the food was good, I must admit that I have had better Mexican cuisine elsewhere. This is not to say that Adobe Grill doesn't have its unique charm and quality, but rather an acknowledgment of the diverse landscape of Mexican culinary offerings out there.

The staff at Adobe Grill deserves a round of applause. Their attentiveness and professionalism were notable. They were prompt, courteous, and had a great knowledge of the menu, which helped in making informed choices. Their service greatly enhanced the dining experience.

Beautiful setting especially during the holidays. Food came out extremely fast (talking less than 5 minutes) and servers were friendly. However, food was very over priced and the guacamole was bland (sad for over $20). Rice and Beans also bland. Entrees were good and are what undoubtedly saved the day (though pricey). Great experience but don’t expect it to come from the food.

We love coming here for dinner when we stay at La Quinta. We were excited for dinner after a long day relaxing by the pool. We got 8:15pm reservations so we would have enough time to get ready. We were running early so we checked in to see if there was any chance to eat earlier. We were told that they were really busy so our 8:15 was the earliest.

We were told to head to one of the three bars to grab a drink which sounded refreshing. They pointed out the bars so we walked to the middle bar only to be told we had to go inside to order drinks.

The bartender inside was super friendly and made us some bomb margaritas. We headed out to the patio to drink them while we waited and filled up on chips and salsa.

At 8pm we went back down to check in again, just to make sure we were good for our reservation. We were told they would text us when they were ready, so we returned to the bar to wait.

At 8:30pm we went back to check in, only to be told there were 4 tables ahead of us and it would be another 25 minutes!! Not cool.

After a few minutes we were given a great table and seated for dinner.

We were eating so late we mostly ordered appetizers and salads. Food was good but we had to keep asking for items like plates, silverware, salad dressing. Not the service we are used to.

The ambiance is great here, the music is great for dining, and we will definitely be back but this experience was not a 5 star service you’d expect.

Truly incredible dining experience here. Top notch service that is way beyond most comparable restaurants. Food is excellent, but the atmosphere and service are Beyonce excellent and what really sets this place apart. Just a beautiful patio with heaters, live music and really transports you. Can't recommend highly enough. Went here for a nice dinner out for the adults, but also my son's second birthday while on vacation and both the adults and child had a wonderful time.

Had the opportunity to have lunch here before going into the festival for Coachella and it was AMAZING! Such a beautiful space! The entire staff I encountered were so positive and kind and well managed for a super busy time of day! I had the Tostadas de Atun at recommendation by the waiter as I was looking for something light but energizing for the afternoon and eve ahead. Paired with a margarita and some delish chips and salsa and this was a FANTASTIC meal! Super fresh and light and just right! Thank you to the team here and keep up the great work!

Based on a glowing review from a local magazine, I made a reservation for my husband's birthday dinner. It was, honestly, the most mediocre Mexican food I've had in years. I would've given it one star but the view is pretty, our server was friendly and attentive, and the chiles güeros were OK. We ordered prickly pear mocktails which tasted like club soda with a dash of sugar syrup. Because the "Adobe Combination" had been highlighted in the magazine review, I ordered that. It was bland and goopy, absolutely without flavor or texture. My husband's carnitas weren't much better. I'd noted it was a special occasion when I made the reservation but there was no acknowledgement, not even when I mentioned it in front of the server. Also, when we arrived, three servers were standing in the entryway, partially blocking it and bickering about something. That was a bad sign! This was super disappointing, especially for a special occasion.

New Years Day, late afternoon drinks & snacks at the bar, with the dashing duo bartenders Edgar & Jorge! They are very customer service oriented & fun! SHRIMP CEVICHE TOSTADAS were outstanding, so fresh, as was the GUACAMOLE, simply the best! 2025 off to a great start!
Festive surroundings, highly recommend to stop in, looking forward to next visit!

Great evening at the Adobe grill last night! We had a great seat on the patio overlooking the 40 ft Christmas tree that the resort puts up every year! The food, service and the ambiance were perfect!!
