We stayed here for part of our 23rd Anniversary trip. The hotel is in the perfect location right in the center of Route 66 in Williams. The hotel staff was amazing and the rooms were extremely clean. We did a split stay and enjoyed both rooms 13 & 12. They were each so unique and wonderfully restored. Each room in this hotel is differently made up and beautifully done. Parking was a breeze and the amenities were more than enough. It was walking distance to everything including the Grand Canyon Railway. Plenty of great shopping and restaurants right outside the front steps. Can’t wait to see the ballroom when it is finished! Would definitely stay here again and try one of the many unique rooms. The Carriage House looks so cute!

Located an hour’s drive from the south rim of the Grand Canyon on Route 66 in Williams, AZ, the Historic Grand Canyon Hotel offers a memorable stay in Arizona’s oldest hotel, and we thoroughly enjoyed Room 15 and our stay in a very charming environment. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful, and our room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable, and the continental breakfast the next morning capped off our stay perfectly. True to its longevity, the hotel features a steep staircase and no elevator, and our room did not have a TV, which actually was very much a positive for us. The new owners have done a wonderful job of sprucing up an old beauty of a hotel and have great plans for even further improvements in the future. We wish them nothing but the best in their venture based on their dedication to all their guests.

One of the neatest, most historic hotels I’ve ever been to. The staff is excellent with communication before and during your stay even with their limited availability. Comfortable bed, friendly service, basic but perfect amount of amenities (I was in one of the smallest rooms at the top of the stairs). I absolutely loved the style of the hotel.

I don’t believe they have an elevator, so keep in mind if you need handicap accessibility, which is understandable since it’s a very old hotel. Because of its age, sound proofing wasn’t too common either and it can get a little loud at night in the room if other guests are talking in the hallways. However, the hotel thought ahead and provides disposable earplugs near the water glasses in each room.

Location couldn’t be any better. Only an hour drive straight to the Grand Canyon and it’s already located in such a cool town that feels like you stepped back into the 1960s. Many restaurants, bars, and shops next door, all within walking distance. Very walkable town with lots to do too.

Overall, I highly recommend staying in this unique and well-maintained historic hotel.

This charming, historic hotel has been renovated with love, detail and care. Our Room, 10, was perfect for our overnight stay in Williams - clean and comfortable - looked just like the pictures. The location is within walking distance to about everything and parking was free. There is no elevator so keep that in mind when booking a room. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. I wish we had one more night to explore the area and hotel. It was fun to step back in time yet enjoy the amenities of 2025. Highly recommend! Would stay again.

My wife and I stayed here for an overnight after visiting the Grand Canyon. We stayed in the carriage house, but spent time in the main hotel as well. The whole hotel is charming and steeped in history. The ballroom, library, lobby and guest rooms are tastefully decorated and preserve the historical nature of the building. The hotel is on the Main Street in town so there are a lot of shops and dinner options. The staff was especially nice and accommodated us by giving us a tour of the various rooms. We give this the highest of ratings - we hope we can stay again soon!

We stayed here two nights in Carriage House 1&2 (we booked an additional night last minute, so needed to change rooms). The multi-room (2, I think) was amazing. This quaint, historic hotel offered everything we needed as a stop between our flight in to Phoenix and our day at Grand Canyon. It was amazingly clean, had one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in, and Deb’s service and complimentary breakfast was an absolute delight.
It is an older structure, which we LOVE (no thanks, boring chain hotels) with imperfections that could bother the princesses of the world, but shouldn’t. Just stay here, we definitely would again.
IMO as we checked out the hotel rooms and all three of the Carriage House rooms - Carriage House 3 is UNREAL. Go for that if you can.
Great restaurants walking distance & getting to the Canyon is super easy.

My family of 6 slept comfortably in room 7! We booked for the historic charm and location. We loved and appreciated the decor (new and old) - it made for such a fun and one of a kind experience which you can’t get staying at a commercial hotel. Every staff member we interacted with was so friendly especially at check in and check out. Thank you for such a fun and memorable stay!

What a fun B&B! Was a pleasant drive to the Grand Canyon and this was such a fun and inexpensive little place to stay. I love old buildings with character, and you can really tell they take pride in their building.

They had nice new brass fixtures to keep the bathrooms historically appropriate but also functional and pretty. Also an attractive and moody library and nice hardwoods throughout. Great, easy place to stay close to restaurants and shops.
