This was my first visit to the arboretum and we came for the Holiday Lighting Event. I was so happy we went after the Xmas Holiday. We didn't have to wait in that long monstrous line for parking or at the gate. The weather was perfect and it was hardly crowded. It was such a nice evening to stroll the place and take photos. The view of Dallas is spectacular from the water.

The 12 Days of Christmas Gazebos were beautifully executed. There was so much attention to detail in the costume design. It's a great event to experience and worth the price. They had vendors on sight and lots of options to choose from from snacks to beverages.

We enjoyed our visit. Parking was plentiful. Early February, so not a lot was blooming, and the children's garden was closed for winter, which was extremely disappointing. Would recommend a visit. There are no paper maps, which was also kinda annoying.

This is the perfect place for a stroll in the park. There is ample parking. There are complimentary and downloadable maps at the gate. There are numerous benches around the arboretum to sit and enjoy the beauty of nature and the fountains. There's a large statue that looks like the hearing loss old ladies meme from the late 2000s. I highly recommend this location for your next trip to Dallas.

Absolutely love the arboretum in general- got a personal membership for about 100$ and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. You can do morning walks between 7-9am before it opens to public and it’s free to get in for you and a guest (plus free parking). Essentially if you go more than twice in a year it more than pays for itself - plus special events.
I recently went to the Friendship Tea for Valentine’s Day and tickets we 65$ and man was it worth it! It was multiple courses that were delicious and beautifully done in the gorgeous historic Degolyer house. I’ll definitely be going back for the Garden tea in the summer and the Harvest tea in the fall. Only recommendation would be that if you go on a chilly day, dress warmly in a sweater as the beautiful sun room can be a bit drafty in low temperatures.

It’s funny, I lived in Texas for over 20 years and never made it to this place. On a recent family trip we went to TX a stopped over here for a few hours. Wow what a fun adventure. The arboretum has so many nice nooks and cranny’s to explore. Aside from greenery there a lot of cool things for kids to explore, experience, and get wet.

Great place to go with friends and family, especially if you have kids. We bought the membership after going for the first time and now go at least once a week. We love their interactive activities that they have, like mommy and me Mondays and their music classes on Tuesdays for kids. They outdoor concerts are also great. The decoration they have for each season is amazing and they truly take care of the gardens like they should. This place is our second home and backyard!

The Holiday at the Arboretum is a must see. It is a wonderful family event and is great for all ages. They have some refreshments and a wonderful Santa. There are so many opportunities for Christmas card photo shots. The workers and volunteers are amazing and offer tips and directions. The 12 Day of Christmas village has great shopping and spots for children to visit like the post office where they can mail a letter to Santa. There are tours of the DeGolyet House which are a must see. The house and decorations are amazing. It is not open for dining at night but is available for lunch and tea during the day
