Home away from home. I checked in at 2am as I had a late flight, and the owner was responsive through every step of the way to ensure I could check in.
The rooms were clean, near and orderly. Very quaint. Amazing location as well!
Family owned business and it shows. They care about every customer and the owner works his butt off to make sure every customer is pleased. Very good guy as well. Great conversations and he had helpful hiking recommendations as well.

We had such a wonderful time! stayed for 3 nights. A great location in Tahoe city to explore both west and east sides of the Lake . The room was large, super clean, and comfortable. Nice kitchen with all the equipment you might need for a short stay. The hosts were so nice and friendly. They made sure we have everything we need and had great recommendations for our travels. Many thanks for a great hospitality!!!

We really stumbled across Tamarack Lodge after searching in vain for a simply decent budget hotel last minute in Tahoe, and I’m so glad we did. ||Tamarack was the absolute perfect place to stay if you want to be close to the lake but still feel a little secluded and cozy and out of the touristy hustle and bustle. The cabins feel like a family summer home because they sort of are. The host we met was so friendly and warm, the rooms were charming and made with love and care and actual sweet human details, like finding incredible repurposed old growth wood, and little bear and moose charms on the shower curtain hooks. ||The kitchen has everything you need (but do make sure you have oil, salt, and pepper for cooking). The water is super fresh from a well on the property. You can see the sun set and little glimmers of the lake from the main rooms. It’s just wonderful! ||I’m glad we found this place and I hope we get a chance to come back soon 🙂

The Tamarack Lodge is a great place to stay! I loved the modern cabin style of the room! Everything was very clean. The refrigerator and freezer worked very well. I didn’t try the microwave, but there was one. The bed was very comfortable. The pillow was very soft, but it gave great neck support for a side-sleeper like me. I slept very well there. I only heard people in another room briefly, but hardly at all. There were plenty of electric outlets. There wasn’t a clock, but I think most people use their phones for that, which is what I did. The chairs at the table were very comfortable. I liked that they were not made out of cloth which gets dirty. I had brought my own breakfast, and it was nice to eat it at the table by the window with the box of flowers right outside on the railing. The air conditioning didn’t seem to work in room 24, but we opened the door for a minute or two and then it was plenty comfortable in the room. My friend did use one of the two fans that was in the room while she slept. I liked that there was plenty of space for parking so that there was plenty of space between cars. I would definitely come back to this motel!

Another returned stay at Tamarack Lodge Motel. After a long day on the lake, returing to the lodge there is such a relaxing environment and spacious grounds to explore. The lodge is also in a great location with helpful and friendly staff available if you need assistance. It is only minutes from the lake, stores, restaurants, and Burton Creek State Park. Not to mention the cleaniness of the rooms with everything that you will need for your stay, and it is super pet friendly with plenty of space for the pets to play.

Got a poker room. Just perfect. They have everything prepared and delicately cleaned. The shower kit is the best I’ve used in a hotel. The bed is also super big and comfortable.

Very, very accomodating as our family plans changed. Added more time and rooms for our stay as a mini family event that got bigger. Gerard was the best at getting us all set up amd comfortable!!

If you’re browsing for places, don’t hesitate to give this place a call/book!! Better value than others around that use third parties. Owners were friendly and the place has an interesting history!! They gave us a good tips on less popular places to visit around the lake to avoid crowds!
