Found this place as a quick stop on our way to the cabin for the weekend. Not quite the 5-star experience as the food and service lacked a little bit. Not the young lady's fault at all for the service, but there was only one server waiting the whole place, and she was definitely busy!

As far as the food, it looks wonderful and great! But the flavor lacked a bit as well. The Popcorn cauliflower had some solid reviews on Yelp and Google, but I did not agree that the flavor was there. The Korean Chicken Sandwich had good flavor and crunch, which I would recommend! The side salad was a great side to share!
The Ahi Poke to be $40 is just not worth it, honestly. Quite surprising with the pricing and quality of Ahi Poke they are serving. Burgers and fries were standard and nothing special, quite cold when they came out, too. Overall, not a terrible experience but also not the best. Good little quick stop for the hungry travelers!

We visited Tahoe Tavern & Grill during the busy holiday week between Christmas and New Year’s, and it was a fantastic experience! Despite being a bustling establishment, perfect for kids and large groups, we were in and out in under two hours. The cozy, warm environment was just what we needed in the middle of winter.

The staff was clearly working hard to manage the holiday crowds, and their efforts didn’t go unnoticed. They were friendly and attentive once they had a moment to reach our table, which we appreciated.

As for the food, everything was delicious! We started with the chicken wedge bites—perfectly spicy and flavorful. For entrees, the seared ahi tuna was our favorite, though we loved how the vegetable lasagna arrived piping hot, making it a comforting choice.

The Tahoe Tavern & Grill team truly deserves credit for keeping up with the holiday rush. Any negative reviews should be taken with a grain of salt—they’re doing an amazing job. Highly recommend this spot for a family-friendly dining experience in Tahoe!

Quite possibly the best 👌 food on the lake anywhere. We are hitting all the bbq spots 😋. I had the ribeye cooked to perfection with an extra side of seasoning. Paired with a Californian orange wheat beer 🍺. The staff are great and the service is excellent though we went during a non busy period.

My wife 😍 had the tacos and loved them.

We have to try the pizza.

Proof again that you should never judge a book by the cover. Our first visit to South Lake Tahoe and followed Google reviews to this location. The best Braised Beef Short Rib and Brad Pudding blessed to experience in far too long.

This restaurant / bar is nestled between some inconspicuous businesses. I was a bit nervous going in as the curb appeal is not good. However, I took a breath and walked in. I was greeted right away, given a table, and someone came right over to take my order. I can’t complain about having such great service by such a friendly person.

The menu was what made me come here. I wanted the steak wedge salad and onion rings. Both were perfectly prepared and tasted awesome. I was definitely happy I ordered them and was perfectly happy.

The check was a bit pricy compared to a regular town, but this is Lake Tahoe so you have to expect a little extra. Check out was easy as they had at the table payment solution.

Overall, a great place to grab a beverage or a bite while visiting or passing through Lake Tahoe!

We ordered Argentinian fries, Grilled cheese (for our toddler), Birria 🌮, Carne Asada fries and signature bread pudding. Overall The food was great with mixed experience.
The service was decent, our server was great.
About the food:
I would suggest to keep Argentinian salad as is. I wanted my steak to be a bit more cooked than medium (like medium well), but they gave me well done which is basically ruined. I would take medium over well done. So don’t try to customize it to your likeness as there’s a risk of ruining it.

The birria tacos wasn’t anything special. But the carne asada fries was amazing (I wished it had guacamole too though, it really missed avocado or guacamole)

The dessert was too sweet and the fruit was all canned, nothing ultra special but still decent.

Delicious pizza, fantastic burger, great drinks and fantastic service.

Atmosphere was 4 stars because there was an extremely obnoxious group of 8 frat guys that the staff did not ask to quiet down. Multiple groups moved seats and took their food to go. It’d be great if the manager could step up and make sure the space is for everyone. It’s not a quiet place but it’s also not a dive bar where you can scream at will 🙂

Sports bar with great food for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Tahoe Traven over the new wolf place at the casino downtown for a delicious yet casual experience.
