One of our favorite areas on this trail we enjoy climbing, hiking & viewpoints. Walking poles recommended. Trail gets rocky, narrow & steep in some spots. Take water. It is beautiful up there. You will see signs directing to various locations with mileage noted, so you are not likely to lose the trail and get lost. Moderate to strenuous climb but the trail levels out along the way as you get closer to the highest ridges. Enjoyable.

Nice easy trail to Castle Rock, where you can see fantastic views of Lake Tahoe. Very interesting rock formations and lots of cute chipmunks running around.

Great trails, be aware there are mountain bikes on them at high speeds, if your hiking or running with ear buds keep one out be aware of your surroundings and don't block the trail

Multiple Trail options (probably need to add more places on google maps to make it more accurate and helpful). So far we’ve done Castle Rock Trail (short hike) and The Daggett Loop (long hike). The Dagget Loop is marked as The Loop. Both hikes are wonderful with breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and Heavenly Ski Resort.
New parking lot as of August 2019 and it is fabulous. Nice restrooms too.

Nice hike, up towards castle rock was very cool, some of it would probably be better enjoyed by avid rock climbers but we also were able to hear some of the nearby nesting falcons which was pretty cool.
