My wife and I stayed here on vacation. We loved the location for the hiking we did in the Shawnee Forest. The view from the deck was amazing! On the day we were to arrive, the host called to tell us a storm had knocked power out. She arranged another cabin for us that night and kept us updated until the power was back and we were able to get in to our cabin.

Me and some friends stayed here so we could do some hiking and some winery hopping. We absolutely LOVED the view. I could sit on that porch all day and be satisfied!! We will be back!

I stayed here with my mom and my sister while we went wine tasting. The set up is a little funky, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. It was clean and had basic dishes and such with coffee and sugar provided. The location was perfect for our activities (wine tasting and shopping). The view from the deck was amazing! We saw 4 deer in the yard. There was a beautiful sunset one evening and we could see the Bald Knob Cross in the distance.

We were celebrating our 15yr anniversary. The cabin was spacious, clean (with the exception of a couple of ants but you are in the middle of the forest so not a big deal), had quality bedding and linens. Kelly had great recommendations for groceries store locations. The hot tub was spectacular and privacy between the cabin is well thought out. Great views!! Bring toiletries (with the exception of toilet paper). Highly recommend!

The breathtaking view, the clean and cozy rooms, to the hot tub! Had a wonderful vacation. Cabin does not have wifi and I have an older phone without 5G, so no connectivity. Luckily, my spouse had 5G and was able to make/receive calls/text/email.

Pros: Cabin was easy to find & very clean. 2 kitchens made for easy meal prep. Hot tub was fantastic.
View was wonderful.

Cons: No place to hang any clothes, if you had such a need. Upstairs bathroom exhaust tan doesn't work.
Fire pit area a mess from the last group ( cans/bottles/trash).

We stayed two nights in Cabin 2. The view is great and so is the location. As mentioned in other reviews, lots of wineries, great scenery and lots of outdoor activities.||||The cabin was clean and the beds comfortable. My only problem was the cabin's two level layout. There were two bedrooms, a bathroom and a combination living/dining area and small kitchen upstairs.There was only a love seat and one chair (other than the dining chairs) so if you had a group it would be crowded. Downstairs was one big room with a bedroom and kitchen. The downstairs kitchen made no sense being next to a bedroom but was bigger than the upstairs kitchen (the dining area was upstairs and there was no table downstairs). Also, the second cabin was close by so if complete privacy is what you want, it was a little close. Luckily we were there when the other cabin wasn't occupied.||||One thing that kind of annoyed me was their policy on the fireplace. No fires above 40 degrees or if it was windy outside. The fireplace evidently didn't work very well, plus there was a $25 cleaning fee for the fireplace if you used it and didn't want to shovel out ashes yourself.||||I have stayed in lots of cabins in Southern Illinois. If you want the best view this is for you. if you want more comfort and complete privacy I would look elsewhere.

The cabins are beautiful and I loved staying there. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is that the stove was broke upstairs and the stop top/burner downstairs was broken. Also a lot of the pots and pans were scratched and there wasnt a full set of silverware for how many beds there was. Overall a great experience juse a few details to make it 5 stars.
