My husband and I took a sunset cruise with Shardana Sailing Charters this past weekend. Andrew , the captain greeted us on the dock and helped us on this beautiful sailboat. We brought several family members with us as well. Andrew introduced himself as well as Andre, his first mate. Andrew went over all safety protocol and took us down below deck to show us a very clean bathroom and a well stocked kitchenette if we needed anything. The Shardana is as beautiful as the photos suggest. Our Sunset Charter was perfection and Andrew was so accommodating, wanting us to see that incredible sunset. We enjoyed our conversations with him and look forward to sailing on the Shardana again. Highly recommend this beautiful charter on the lovely Shardana.

Had a marvelous day sailing with Captain Andrew on the Shardana today. Highly recommended; fantastic to get out on the water and simply relax and take a break from daily cares and worries for a few hours. Already looking forward to a repeat journey in the future!

Our sunset sail on the Shardana was epic! We were fortunate to have a gorgeous night on the Chesapeake, but what made the experience even more special was the fabulous crew! Captain Andrew and Mike were hospitable and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Shardana and will definitely do this again!

My wife, our labradoodle Cosmo, and I spent three enjoyable nights on Shardana with Andrew and Andre sailing from Rock Hall under the Bay Bridge to Rhode River (anchored), then on to Oxford (marina), St. Michael's (maritime museum marina), and back to Rock Hall via Kent Island draw bridge. This was our first overnight trip with Cosmo, and he was well received by captain and crew. They were very accommodating in ensuring that Cosmo had opportunities to dingy to shore to take care of his needs and stretch his legs. We had lots of stimulating conversations with the crew while we sailed or motored about 5 hours each day, which was just the right amount of time on the water, giving us plenty of time to explore each new location. The first night we cooked up a nice dinner of lamb and chicken shish kebab dinner on the grille with salad and rice. It was enjoyable learning how to cook on the boat and getting to know the crew. Andrew was very safety conscious whether it was shutting off propane on grille when not in use, limiting charging devices when we were not awake or on boat, ensuring that we had our life vests handy, or boarding the dingy. Andrew and Andre are very experienced sailors, and we were never concerned for our safety and the ride was quite comfortable with limited healing. Shardana is a beautiful boat with plenty of head clearance and space down below, air conditioning when needed, and a very roomy head/shower in the main cabin. Cosmo happily found his favorite spot for sleeping in the shower stall where it was nice and cool. In the evenings we were on our own, but the captain always was on call if needed. Morning started with fresh coffee prepared by Andre before everyone else was awake, my favorite time on the boat. Oxford and St. Michael's were lovely places to walk around and plenty of great dining options that were dog friendly. The maritime museum has exceptional grounds and exhibits and was a very peaceful place to be docked.

Captain Andrew is a highly competent captain and a charismatic host. His 43 ft Catalina 425 is clean, comfortable, and swift. He provided a high value Chesapeake Bay sailing experience that everyone who loves the Bay would thoroughly enjoy. My highest recommendation.

Not our first trip with Shardana, and hopefully not our last. We've gone a number of times, with both Capts Andrew and Davis. Both are great to work with, and will do their best to help you enjoy your time aboard. You can be involved as some crew and help work the lines, or just relax. Over the years, we've had the ability to cruise to Annapolis and St. Michaels, also to some of the rivers where you can swim and use the paddleboards, and even stopped at a winery or two along the way. This past time, we spent our first night in Rhode River, allowing us for a bit of swimming, and had dinner aboard. The second night were able to get a slip at the CBMM in St Michaels. The museum has some great history about the ships and industry from the Chesapeake Bay. You can also explore one of the vintage Bay lighthouses. We even got to see a regatta of "log canoes" (old sailing boats) near the harbor. Afterward we went to a dinner in town and got some ice cream. We were able to sail at least a little bit each of the three days (Saturday afternoon had a lull of breeze). They'll make sure you're comfortable aboard and enjoy your time. Mostly, just take your time and enjoy the sail.

Captain Andrew knows his stuff. If you want a complete sailing experience, Shardana Sailing is the way to go. Our Boy Scouts took a 4 day cruise with many opportunities for them to learn the many workings of a modern sailboat and steering around the Chesapeake Bay. Andrew knows the bay area also. And can recommend the sights and attractions the bay offers.

I will be recommending this experience to many other Scouting units and everyone I meet. A must adventure!!!
