What a great place. The trail ride was fun and the kids had a blast. Plus we got to see at the animals they've rescued. Great place doing great work. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed this small wildlife park. We did a walk through by ourselves and then followed the 2pm feeding tour with Denise. She was awesome and very knowledgeable about the animals. She was patient, answered every question that came her way, and kept us entertained. We saw each animal and got an antler whistle from the giftshop. All the staff was knowledgeable and inviting. The animals are well taken care of and loved. These people love what they do, and it shows. There are informative signs at each animal enclosure, including the animals' names. It was reasonably priced, and we plan on coming back for the horse trail rides and to see the animals again.

We ended up here for a trail ride & had the best time!! Our trail guide was super sweet & gave great direction with each of the horses. During the ride she told us about the feeding time tour that would be happening shortly after our ride so we decided to stay!
The feeding tour guide was fantastic as well! Very informative & upbeat which kept us all engaged. I can’t talk highly enough about the staff because we encountered some rude people at other locations in Pagosa this week unfortunately. We had 4 adults & 4 kids. Ages 1-11 & we all throughly enjoyed the staff, the trail ride, & the feeding tour!

I am assuming it is a family owned little zoo. We haven't seen much. Maybe a few other animals are in hibernation or just hiding from the cold. Coming from. California, with San Diego and LA Zoos experience, this wasn't something to our expectations, but it is one of the few places to take small kids to, in Pagosa. I was glad that I had the opportunity to see this huge wolf pretty closed up!

Great experience learning about and viewing these beautiful animals. The sanctuary is set in a beautiful space. Many of the animals are given a second chance where none existed otherwise. The Rocky Mountain Wildlife employees genuinely seem to care about the animals. I highly recommend taking an hour or so out of the day to visit if you are in the area.
