Wonderful retreat! Nathaniel was a wonderful guide and I was impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of everyone on staff from start to finish. A true white water experience (we did the intermediate level with plenty of class V rapids). The candid photos and videos are a really cool touch. Specific notes:

-I gave the accommodations a 4 only because the pillows are a bit soft (but I am notoriously picky w/ my pillows).
-Bathrooms in the "cozy cabin" are immaculate w/ great water pressure and temperature; there are even electrical outlets in the bathroom.
-Linens were spotless and there are ample towels and washcloths.
-Bathroom was spotless with a separate shower stall. (No shower heads over the toilets at this venue!)
-TVs in the cozy cabins allow you to log into streaming services when you want to veg after a day of thrills.
-Gift shop is huge and has cute stuff with kind and efficient employees.
-Really enjoyed Nathaniel as a river guide--funny, chill, knows the river well and guided our boat immaculately.
-The gentleman at the check-in area was friendly and knew exactly where to send us for dinner.
-Can't wait to go back and take my kiddo!

We have stayed here and went rafting years ago. We finally got the chance to come back and I'm so glad we did! We stayed in the bungalow cabins which were very nice and clean and so close to everything. Our guide for the rafting trip was Chris and he was fantastic! Super knowledgeable about the river and the rapids and just had lots of great stories to tell. It was obvious he loves rafting and it made me feel safe that he was there to help out and be our guide! Will definitely be back for more adventures!

WV is gorgeous, highly recommend rafting the Upper Gauley if you're a thrill seeker, or the Lower New if you wanna dip your toes into what a medium size rapid is like.

The staff here are accommodating. I can't review the luxury cabins here because I've only tent camped but I'm sure they're probably nice. Campground could be a little flatter but it's not terrible.

Carla did an amazing job leading us through the River. It was a nice excursion that included plenty of adventure. It’s not often you get a full day experience like this one. The nature, rapids, team work and overall excitement make this a must do.

My mom is 62 years old and was set on getting out on the river, albeit nervous. We went on a Saturday morning express trip with Kayla and it was AWESOME. Kayla was AMAZING! She was super knowledgeable about the river, carried a super fun and personable attitude throughout our trip, and helped my mom feel confident and at ease on the boat. The operation was well organized and on a busy day on the river, I was super grateful how efficient River Expeditions ran getting us out on the water well before other companies big groups launched. I loved that breakfast was available too before our trip. Would highly recommend this outfitter and definitely encourage you to request Kayla when you make your reservation!

Found this location by random just looking for white water rafting, was pleased with our little cabin. Queen size bed, full bathroom and heat/a/c. Check in office was pleasant and explained where everything was at, snacks and pop etc was also available up to 10pm. Next day check in for rafting was a smooth process, light breakfast was okay. Coffee, juice, small mini muffins and danishes. Some granola bars and fruit. Enjoyed how organized everyone was on getting geared up, to the bus and into our groups. The river guides were awesome!! Cool history facts and keeping us comfortable as we went along. Loved being able to get out of the raft and swim. Lunch was lite and just what was needed. All in all a wonderful trip, will definitely return.

I did both the upper and lower Gauley river with a group of friends. It was an amazing experience that is a must do if you like adrenaline filled water sports. Our guides, Carla and Chris, were absolutely awesome. They know what they are doing and make you feel safe in the insanity of the Gauley. Transportation to and from the river launch and takeout points was wonderful. They even had cold PBR for the ride back to base camp. 10 out of 10, definitely recommend!

We did a large family rafting trip. A few of us in the group have been down the New River a few times, but this was the first time using River Expeditions. The location was perfect, check-in was quick and easy, bus ride was great, Trip lead, “Possum” was informative and great. Put-in was quick and our trip guide, Max was absolutely phenomenal! We had a raft of 9 of us and he was so patient with us. We had a few in the boat that this was their first time and he really got us in sync. By the end of the trip he felt like part of the family! Great pictures and video offerings! Gift shop and bar are great spots to get your little souvenirs and hang out after a long day on the river! 10 out of 10 we would recommend! We are already looking at booking with them for a Gauley Trip in Oct.
