I can't believe I had never been here before. As much as I go by the creed "Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time," I DID concede to the temptation to refill my water bottle with water from the spring. Darned good too.

Friendly staff and knowledgeable of local lore and history. If you're a geology nut like me, you'll enjoy the various views and caves. Yet be careful! One of the cave entrances is tight. I'm sure people have become stuck. It was kind of a contortionist trick to get back out, but no worries. This is why I like leather. 😀

Oh, and if you visit here, the other parks in the area will recognize your pass! Might as well if you've got the time! Rifle Gap Dam has views of its own!

If you're looking for a cool spot to explore in Colorado, Rifle Falls State Park is definitely worth checking out. It's a pretty small park, but the main attraction is the stunning triple waterfall that feels like something out of a fairy tale. The waterfalls are super easy to get to with a short hike from the parking lot, so it’s great if you want something that’s not too strenuous.

One of the best parts is you can actually explore some caves behind the falls, which is a nice touch and makes the experience even more fun. The sound of the water is so peaceful, and on a hot day, the mist is super refreshing. There are also a few trails around the park where you can soak in the scenery and maybe spot some wildlife.

it’s a perfect little getaway if you’re in the area and looking for something chill and beautiful.

This was a truly beautiful place to visit! It was a bit of a far drive for us (it’s the middle of nowhere- so download your GPS map because there is no phone reception in the area), you are immediately rewarded with the falls right from the start of the path. There is a trail map that has several different options (see photo). We did the Coyote trail and it took us around 30 minutes. We explored the caves a bit with my cellphone flashlight and that was sufficient. There are several lookout points on the trail with amazing views, and we even got to see a rainbow at the top of the falls. Definitely recommend!

Fabulous waterfalls with practically no effort. The 1 mile walking loop trail was amazing. It goes straight to the falls, over & behind the falls. There's stairs with & without rails. Super cool caves to explore. A variety of wildflowers. Several benches with great views of the falls.
If you purchased the Colorado State Parks Pass, it is free to enter (just need your vehicle registration) . Camping is an extra fee. Open year round! I recommend this anytime of year. 30ish minutes off of I70 by New Castle.

My husband and I took my autistic adult son and my triplet nephews to the park. It was beautiful! Walkable trails with great scenery. My nephews enjoyed the caves. The waterfalls are beautiful. Budget friendly since you pay per car not per person.

This was a very nice hike, no dogs allowed on the upper trail & no bikes allowed @ all. Very beautiful and peaceful experience. We went after an overnight rain shower so everything was lush and green. The water falls were amazing.

Beautiful waterfalls, trails to see different perspectives all the way to the top. Easy hike, great for a quick stop and suitable for the whole family. Weekdays and shoulder seasons see less traffic. $10 entrance fee per vehicle.

I would definitely recommend rifle Falls for anybody traveling off of I-70. My wife and I recently stayed in the area and our glad we made the Quick trip out there. The drive out Through the gap was scenic, There is a lake nearby. Parking was $10, The hike is relatively easy, The waterfalls are stunning, The caves are cool, but kind of creepy. Overall 10 out of 10 would recommend.
