Nice visitor center with a really nice museum, very creative way to exhibit information. Went to the "AIR" lecture, such a wonderful events for the kids. The lady that gave the class was wonderful and very patient. She deserves a gold star, even if I did not learn how to make the air cannon. Lol... Don't forget to go behind the building and checkout the humming birds and flowers for the bees inside the museum.

Rend Lake is always a fun place to go. No matter the time of day. My family and I were fortunate enough to go and experience the Northern Lights' views here. It was breathtaking and easy to navigate.

Perfect Visitor Center with friendly service from Park Rangers. Inside, a perfectly prepared and presented exhibition that presents the life of animals and all nature in the area around Rand Lake. I can recommend it to everyone, especially children. A brilliant educational and informative place.

Rend Lake is an often overlooked treasure of Illinois with miles and miles of beautiful natural shoreline, and great bike trails!!
The visitor center staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The exhibits were interesting and informative for all ages young and old alike.
We visited in October and the decorations were fantastic... going to stop by again over the Christmas holidays.

Very beautiful lake, really nice visitors center. They have a really informative walk thru featuring flora and fauna of the area. Lots of interactive displays for kids. We were invited to an "AirShow" it wasn't. It turned out to be a basic science demonstration for kids based around the properties of air. Very misleading...

Not just a place to receive information on the area. There is a museum in the back that the kids thought was awesome. They also put on animal shows.

Rend Lake is a hidden gem. It offers many types of actives, hiking, camping, swimming, boating, fishing and many more. The Corps has done a great job building and maintaining the recreation facilities. The Visitor's Center is a good place to start and see seem of the history and ecology of the area.
