We used Ray's Catering for a buffet lunch after our daughter's memorial service. The memorial service was held at the Bill and Adele Jonas Center on the College of Marin campus. We knew from the moment we spoke with Dan, Ray's was the caterer we wanted to use. There was nothing we had to worry about and allowed us to focus on the event itself.

There are several reasons we chose Ray's. They have the alcohol license to purchase and serve which is required by venues - no extra time or work required from us. There were many options to choose from for food options within our budget. We expressed a food item our daughter particularly liked and Dan was more than enthusiastic in providing this as an option for the buffet.

Ray's has a working relationship with the Jonas Center and is very familiar with the building, requirements of the venue, capacity limitations, and in particular room layout based on needs.

Leading up to the event, Dan was in communication with us, Melinda (the Jonas Center event manager), food/alcohol decisions, planning of event timing, table count w/tablecloth ordering, and final costs. Day of event, they arrived on time and quickly set up. Everything was organized, well-presented, and clean. Ray's catering staff was friendly, checking in on our needs while at the same time staying behind the scenes. The years of catering experience, knowledge of the venue layout, and what works best for the event, allowed us to focus on the memorial service and not have any worries, which is what anyone who is having an event wants. After the event, items were packaged up allowing us to take them home and enjoy. They cleaned up to the requirements of the venue again allowing us not to have to worry.

Ray's Catering was one of the preferred caterers for our wedding venue and we are so incredibly happy that we went with them! Dan was responsive, kind, helpful and patient throughout the entire process and was more than happy to walk us through the options we had during our tasting. Day of the wedding, our catering lead was Donna - and we cannot say enough great things about her! Not only were our families impressed with her, but we have had several guests reach out to let me know how sweet and helpful she was. Not to mention, we had planned to have a bridesmaid deliver family heirloom glasses to a few guests during dinner and Donna stepped in and offered to assist with this, she just made the day so easy and seamless.

We had our wedding at Deer Park Villa in Fairfax for 170 people in July of 2024. Ray's went so far above and beyond our expectations--multiple people told us it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding, and we absolutely agree. Every part of the process and the day were perfect.

The tasting experience was by far the best we had--Dan laid everything out clearly, let us try a much greater variety of options than other places, and gave us space to talk through the meal together. They have a huge range of options for hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees, etc.

In the months leading up to our wedding, Dan was INCREDIBLY responsive--we never had to wait more than a few hours for an answer to our questions, and it was usually even faster than that. They were very accommodating of concerns and questions that came up.

On the day, the entire Ray's team was amazing. They did a wonderful job staging the tables in advance, and our coordinator said they were great to work with. Everyone was incredibly friendly and positive. The servers made sure to bring by some of each of the hors d'oeuvres for me and my wife during cocktail hour. They also plated a meal for us first, and sent us home with to-go dinners at the end of the night.

Dinner was out of this world. The short-rib is a can't-miss, and the mushroom tortellini is a great option for vegetarians (though it was also one of my favorite parts of the meal).

Ray's delivered on absolutely everything, from service, to hospitality, and obviously the food. Thanks very much to Dan and his whole team--and if you're looking for a caterer, stop your search here!

We used Rays for our wedding this past weekend and they exceeded my expectations! We weren’t expecting rain and had to move our dinner indoors. It was a tight squeeze but they made sure to make it work and make it look they way I had dreamed! The food was absolutely AMAZING. Couldn’t have asked for a better team on our big day! I was the wedding planner at a wedding this past weekend where Ray’s Catering was providing their services. I want to start by saying the catering team was amazing and they worked hard and the guests liked them. HOWEVER, I’m giving this review 3 stars because the lead Dan, who was running the bar and managing the weddings catering, was awful. 1. He was yelling at his staff and guests were aware and could hear him. 2. He was very rude to me when it came to any question or request I had. 3. The Mother of the Groom came to me to let me know he upset a guest when she asked him for a box for her food (it was buffet and the food had been paid for.) 4. The Mother of the Groom approached him on behalf of her guest, and he told her he “isn’t running a restaurant.” 5. Dan began putting the chairs away at 9:00pm and even asked guests to GET UP so he could put their chair away, the event was not even over until 9:30pm. To say he was awful to work with is an understatement. He was NOT a team player and the fact that guests complained to me about his attitude is so disappointing. Keep the catering team, get rid of Dan.

Ray's Catering flawlessly handled my wedding. The food was delicious and my guests were impressed by the quality. My only regret is that I had to actually host my wedding and not eat all of the food there. They were transparent about pricing, clearly experienced, and I would definitely recommend them!
