We stopped here for a quick rest stop on a drive. The gorge is pretty from the bridge from above and we heard the visitor center had a trail to walk down to the bottom. I think part of it is under construction but the part we walked was really nice.
The trail was a good length of descent and ascent. One of average health can probably walk up and down it in 20 mins total. The trail is wide and smooth beside a few dips that run perpendicular across the trail for drainage.
Once we got down we saw a river that ran on our right through the gorge. Families, friends and couples and well behaved dogs were walking on the rocks. Many people were swimming in the gorge area. Watch for the strong current but I thought it was fun to put myself to the test to swim up steam to the rapids with lots of rest breaks on the side and then enjoy the fun and fast swim back to my starting point.
There also seemed to be a big flat island area at the bottom of the gorge which I saw some people explore but I was too busy enjoying the fun swimming in the gorge.

I have been to the gorge a few times and it's beautiful. There's a short downhill walk to the gorge area where you can walk around and get in the water. It's a little steep but not too bad.

Campground was very clean, campsite was great! Workers extremely friendly and helpful. Bathhouse with hot showers, perfect!! One problem, couldn’t sleep for the highway noise. Not sure how quiet it is on opposite side, but terribly loud on our side.

Didn't feel like the Visitor Center was really useful, plus I got no information about the detour because of the working on the bridge. Impossible to have the view from it as well. Alors the detour signs were definitely not easy enough to follow.

Great hike down to the gorge!! Water was VERY low so lots of rocks to cross to get to it. Still a great hike!! Go under the bridge to the other side and you'll see the waterfall!
