The Northern Forest Canoe trail, often called the "Appalachian Trail" of water trails, is fantastic. I've enjoyed the Adirondack portions for years, and the range of diversity from Old Forge to Lake Champlain is amazing. From wide-open lakes to winding creeks, the trail has something for everyone. I highly recommend any part of the NFCT for anyone who wants to experience some of the best paddling the country has to offer.

I discovered the Northern Forest Canoe Trail when I was newly retired and looking for my first distance paddling adventure. It was such a great experience that I have repeated the adventure three years in a row. Kudos to all the staff and volunteers at NFCT.
