Lovely place to let the kids play and thereโ€™s some beautiful walks near by too. The horses are super cute but probably wonโ€™t come up and say hello

This was the best thing ever and it seemed like a fairy trap. After walking 45 mins in the city, I came to a little wooden gate. I go through it, and it's a dark, mossy forest with a well groomed trail. And then there's just ruins lying there? By the river? And no one about? It was lovely. Birds everywhere and rushing water, greenery, moss... And if you stand on the path of these ruins, you can see the end of the very short tail that ended in a meadow FULL of flowers with horses grazing!! It was a dream. I went to the horses and while you can't pet them unless you are some kind of extremely lanky and long armed person, they will come up to you. At least they came up to me, but I used a normal way to call a horse. They were SO CUTE and groomed each other and their little hooves are so tiny. If you like to look at horses, I'd recommend this. If you want to be lured away by fairies, also recommend this.

We where geocaching nearby so thought we'd say "hello" to the ponies. Very friendly though remember you can clap them but not feed them as their strict diet keeps them in tip top shape ๐Ÿค

Itโ€™s so nice to have a peaceful place in Edinburgh these days. The entire area surrounding this idilic place is being developed for houses and the roads are jammed with cars and roadworks. There used to be a green belt surrounding Edinburgh but alas no more! This is a great place to walk dogs but be aware if itโ€™s kids or dogs youโ€™re bringing down that the cyclists are a real problem. They speed and they shout snd they swear at the world for getting in their way. So be very careful. From the park you can walk along the Almond River to Cramond Beach or South Queensferry.

Quaint little spot near the River Almond. Friendly Shetland Ponies May come up to you at the fence for a pet.
