We had a random 80 degree day and this nice little park is just 10 minutes from my home. It was my first time this year to paddle board. I felt so lucky to enjoy the sunshine and the quiet lake. No motor boats ever at this spot. Plenty of parking this day as I went at peak 80 degrees around 2:30 Saturday afternoon. Not super beautiful scenery around the lake but nice enough. I love to practice here as paddle boarding really uses my core and I don’t have to worry about choppy water.

Great cove protected from the wind on 3 sides so its a great place for SUP (stand up paddleboard). Rent a paddleboard or kayak at the outpost adjacent to the park...or bring your own. You can launch at the walk in area or off the dock. Sometimes I launch right off the grass. There is a water trail if you want to adventure out of the cove too.

This place is a great little cove, but on windy days it’s best to stay inside the cove rather than crossing underneath the bridge. The current gets very strong once you’ve crossed underneath and it can be a challenge to get back. There are a lot of ducks and other birds, and it seems to be a good fishing spot. When you go bring a trash bag and help make it a bit more beautiful by filling it up with things you see and tossing it. The port-a-John was not in the best shape. The kayak shop right in that cove is a great spot to fill up on supplies like sunscreen, etc or to sign up for a lesson!

It's a nice place to drop in. However it can be crowded on the weekends. Additionally there are no swimming and fishing warnings posted but people ignore them. Often the small ramp and dock are congested with both. If you don't have a board there is a rental place on site. If you enjoy bird watching while you paddleboard you won't be disappointed. Also the sunsets are pretty good.

A great place for paddle boarding. It’s a restricted area of Lake Ray Hubbard, where motorized watercraft are not allowed so the water is always very calm. It is also a bird sanctuary. I would avoid it on holidays simply because it is a very small parking lot and fills up quickly. Also, outside of business hours for the paddleboard and kayak rental there are no restrooms available.

Loved this place!! I used to fish here in 81, years ago. Then, it was a dirt parking lot with nothing around, I recall 5 trucks got stuck in the mud once. I was surprised to see how much the area changed. It's an excellent place for kayaking with plenty of "paved" parking spaces. I recommend this park for those who love kayaking or conoes!! I live in Arlington, it is worth the drive!!

This is mainly a park for people who want to go paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, etc. It's not really beach access but there are some people who just go out there to swim. Water is calm so it's perfect for paddleboarding. Definitely my favorite place to go in garland!
