Patrick and Sarah were super friendly upon arrival. The rooms were clean with some night updates. Quiet area but convenient area to ge to some locals gems. Price was very reasonable.

Delayed by snow and ice storms on our long drive in, Patrick was very helpful. He called us to advise how to get into our rooms after he closed the office at 8:00 pm.

Our two families booked 2 rooms in February. It was cold and icy everywhere. Buckets of de-icing salt were near our doors so we could apply it as necessary.

The deluxe rooms were exactly as promised. Nicely updated with lots of room at the entrance for our ski gear. The heater was very powerful in both rooms. Even though we turned off the heat before heading for the slopes, it took only minutes to warm up when we got back.

I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. We were very happy to stay here and will return in future.

Overall the hotel would be much nicer if someone cared about it and invested some time and energy in it. It was as clean as you can get older things. New mattresses and new grout in the bathroom would certainly improve the experience. I checked the AC filters and I am pretty sure they were never cleaned last year let alone this year. I washed them myself.|There are large flower boxes next to each door growing weeds. Pansies and marigolds don't cost much, but would change the appearance. The pool has been filled in and they have a few chairs and grill on the makeshift 'patio'. The view out my rear window was tattered tarps on top of the roof of a crumbling shed. |The plusses: it was quiet, there was a good sized refrigerator with a freezer and that, the microwave and the white sheets and comforter as well as the toilet were all spotless, and the room was large.|They also let me check in early.

We just stayed one night to attend a family event the next day.
Rooms are extremely spacious, tidy, and modernized (decor, outlets in furniture, sizeable mini fridge, etc.). It was also quiet, which can be a rarity at motels!

Only reason it didn't get 5 stars was there were a few spots that needed updating (crumbled sheetrock around outlet, draws wouldn't close easily, bathroom fan clicks when on, etc) but none of these things would impede me from coming back! The price is a steal and staff is very friendly! Will return in a heartbeat.

Bed broken when we got there called to get into another room no one answered and no call back sad part is the hotel down the road has suites for power prices they ripped out the pool even though they still have pictures of it in there no one there after hours do if you got a problem your own your own rented room with three of us and had only towels for two not impressed with this hotel at all and I'm originally from Newport

Ended up staying at the Newport Motel after my family and I got rained out camping at nearby Pillsbury State Park. The park staff recommended it and we are so glad they did! The motel staff were extremely friendly and the room looked recently renovated. Had a wonderful stay in a clean and dry modern room! We were able to still enjoy a bit of a "camping" experience as we used the picnic table and grill out front. Really comfortable beds. Quite pleased with our stay as the motel was a wonderful place!

Newport Motel in Newport, New Hampshire has bare bones basics for a cozy over night very close to Mount Sunapee (ski) Resort in Newbury, NH. Patrick is very cool, down to earth and helped me over the phone to make a last-minute booking the day of!
Keep in mind this is a no-frills small basic motel (not hotel) room for an overnight with only the very basics. If you just need a place to crash in a small room with no restaurant, no swimming pool, no gym and none of the other bells and whistles, this place is perfect. I like the old school vibe of chatting with Patrick (the office manager) and being handed an old-fashioned key. I also feel good about supporting a local motel (owned by Tanya and Bruce) that’s not a corporate conglomerate. There was a note that their Wi-Fi is “not guaranteed” (I guess to function consistently) and it’s complementary. However, the Wi-Fi worked totally fine in my room and in fact, better than other motels I stayed at.

Also be mindful that the office closes at 8 PM (at least on Saturdays when I stayed) so I had to make sure to arrive before the office closes in order to get into my room.
Also know that rooms are close together, the wall seems thin and I did hear people hanging out in the other rooms. However, that’s the case with almost every motel I’ve ever stayed at and that doesn’t bother me.

I felt assured as the other surrounding hotels (which were booked) recommended Newport Motel as it seems that Tanya and Bruce are part of this town’s accommodations community!
