This is, by far, the best bang for your buck in DC. Such a lovely little boutique type hotel with a few places to eat and drink on the property.l and it’s within walking distance of many other places to enjoy! ||First, the staff (Michael, James, Darrin, Stefani, and - Tamesha) were absolutely wonderful!!! I cannot give enough praise to that entire group! They were so helpful with all of my in app chats/questions before we even arrived. Then, from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with nothing but smiles from all of them. The entire group deserves recognition! ||We will be putting the Motto as our go-to hotel to stay at whilst in DC (which we frequent often).|||Tip 1: I’d book with the refundable option as the prices will fluctuate and you may be able to rebook with a better rate closer to your date needed. ||Tip 2: Also, if you are a Hilton Honors member, you can choose to get an $18 credit per person per day that you can use at the property restaurants/bars, but you need the front desk to activate that with a link they will text you. Then show them your QR code (gift certificate/credit) to use upon paying your bill. ||Tip 3: If you are a light sleeper, Friday is trash day for that area and they start early! Make use of the noise machine in your room. 🙂

Our first visit to Motto, and I couldn’t be more impressed! Darren provided exceptional service from the start—helping us check in early, giving us a full overview of the hotel, and even inviting us to happy hour. His hospitality was top-tier. Our bartender was equally outstanding, wowing us with her expertise and impeccable service. The atmosphere was fantastic, making for a truly enjoyable experience.||Beyond the amazing staff, the building and rooms are beautifully designed, but the real highlight is the unbeatable location. Part of me wants to keep this gem a secret, but it’s officially my go-to spot whenever I’m in DC. Can’t wait to return!

This hotel is amazing. I always stay here when I am in D.C. It is in a great location with lots of restaurants within walking distance. The Metro station is just across the street. And, it is next to a three story pharmacy that makes picking up those little things that you forgot at home a breeze. The staff is fantastic. I have to give a big shout out to Darren who made our experience exceptional. Stop looking and book your stay here.

I stayed at this hotel in December 2024, and I am happy to give it a 5-star rating across the board.

Rooms- Yes, they are small, but it's a micro hotel, so do your research before booking and there are no surprises. I recommend putting your luggage under the bed to maximize floor space.

Service - The front desk staff is very friendly. They will hold your luggage for the day after you check out and have a well-organized system for it.

Location - I don’t see how you could possibly beat it! There are many great food options within walking distance, and it's only a 3-minute walk from a Metro stop.

I'd definitely stay here again on a future D.C. trip.

This place was fantastic! I booked it online without knowing the area, relying solely on the reviews and great price—plus, its downtown DC location was a bonus. It turned out to be right around the corner from the Capital One Arena, making it perfect for attending a sporting event.

Many nearby places stay open late, which was convenient, and having a local pharmacy close by was a plus. There were also plenty of quick dining options for nights when we didn’t feel like eating out. If you’re looking for a drink, the hotel has a great bar downstairs that’s both nice and accommodating.

The staff was friendly, the rooms were very clean, and we loved the view overlooking the Chinatown atmosphere. Having never been in a Chinatown environment like that before, it was a unique and enjoyable experience. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations!

Price was decent, room was smaller than expected but seemed clean. It was nice to receive a text after checking in, in case you had any questions. You can pay for parking around the block but if you get there late at night it can be a little confusing getting into the garage. Only thing is that on a Saturday night, the music outside the window was extremely loud; it’s understandably outside of the hotel management’s control but the location should be a factor if you’re staying with younger children, it may be difficult to sleep. It was even slightly audible with noise cancelling earbuds in. Overall, very satisfactory experience and I would still stay here again if the need arose!

This was my first visit to Motto DC City Center. It was also my first stay in a “micro-hotel” environment. |I was on business so it was just me. Given that, the room had everything I needed. I had a corner room with windows on 2 sides. The bed takes up the majority of the room with a toilet/shower separated using a sliding barn door.|The bed was very comfortable. The room and shower were very clean. The smart TV was very easy to use. The AC unit worked great. There is no formal closet but there are exposed hangars for dress clothes, jackets. There is also a safe in the room as well as a small desk and chair-not really big enough to work from, though. |The highlight of my trip was the hotel staff. Yarde’ checked me in and was extremely friendly and helpful. Darren checked in with me to check on my stay. First-class service my entire stay. They are the reason I would repeat this hotel. |The location is at the Chinatown Friendship Archway and Capital One Arena. In the area and convenient are great food, a drugstore, and walking distance to several attractions. Everywhere else including DCA I used Uber/Lyft and the pricing was reasonable. |The price point for this hotel was a great value.|It is a Hilton brand so the loyalty program is also recognized. |Overall a great experience for my 2-day trip.

This was terrific! Nice little room, very clean and well appointed. Enough room for two of us and our small bags. Bathroom very clean, nice towels. Comfortable bed with nice linens. The lobby staff was friendly and helpful. Easy access to discounted parking across the street ($25 a day, versus twice that or more elsewhere). And all at a great price. We'll definitely plan to stay here again.
