My wife and I, along with our two young children stayed there last week after our power was knocked out by Hurricane Sandy. Our room was spacious, warm and clean and had a great bathroom. We used the kitchen and dining area on the middle floor because we had rescued so much food from our home. Again, there was plenty of room and the kitchen area was always spotless. The owners, Leigh and Brent were friendly and accommodating. They welcomed us like family. We often had dinner with them and their two boys Brian and Bryce spent a lot of their time playing with our kids. Downtown New Canaan is just a few steps away. It was a great experience and I highly recommend staying there

The house and Decor look good on the surface but upon further inspection the place is tired and shabby with a lot of things not working properly. At least it was impeccably clean which is nice. I stayed with my wife and two small daughters and we found the place uncomfortable and not kid-friendly in any way. It benefits from being the only place in town to stay if you're coming to visit friends or family that don't have extra room for you in their house or if you don't want to spend the exorbitant inflated prices at the Rodger Sherman Inn. Overall, if you have to stay here it will probably be fine but I wouldn't expect too much from it.

Through the years, business colleagues and customers stay at the Main Street Inn. It is a cozy and comfortable inn located in downtown New Canaan. Service is always friendly and professional. Rooms are clean. It is a great place to stay!

I completely disagree with the other review. I did not find the Main Street Inn shabby at all. It was warm, friendly and comfortable. It may not be an equivalent of the extremely high priced other inn in New Canaan but it is definitely family friendly and very clean and near everything downtown New Canaan has to offer.

We have stayed here several times over the past few years. What a wonderful place! Beautifully decorated, wonderfully clean and comfortable - everything sparkles! Great location; on Main Street in the heart of downtown New Canaan. Highly recommend the Main Street Inn!!

Sharing this reluctantly, as I want to be the only guest next time. 🙂 ||Absolutely charming property, best location. Minutes walk to shopping, dining and the train station. Felt absolutely at home, relaxed and comfortable. Great bed, which is the most important thing to me, Lots of room to spread out - study, large kitchen with all the amenities, living room, big closet. Everything you may ever want!
