LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!

Elizabeth and Krista from Knowmad Adventures organized one of the most incredible trips we have ever taken. 12 days in five cities throughout Argentina, Buenos Aires, El Calafate, El Chalten, Bariloche and Mendoza.
Everything they booked was meticulously researched to fit our likes, dislikes, fitness level and personal interest. The whole itinerary was flawlessly executed, from hotels to restaurants suggestions and then reservations.
Krista and Elizabeth found little hidden gems that we would not have known about on our own. I loved that they didn't so the typical touristy stuff, but more the seasoned traveler arrangements.
Even got to se the elusive Guanacos
Each guide and each driver in all 5 cities made our trip even more interesting, all top-notch, knowledgeable and courteous, and well versed in Argentina culture, history and current affairs.
Because of one of the domestic airlines, we hit a little hiccup in the road. Elizabeth immediately coordinated with the local agency to re-organize all our routings, tour guides, drivers. Every was seamless and took all the stress away. Moreover, they were extremely generous in reimbursing an activity even though 1) it wasn't their fault and 2) the activity owner wouldn't reimburse K.A.
I mean they really go out of their way to give you impeccable service and knowledge!
There's no way we could've done this trip without Knowmad Adventures, we are glad we booked with them and look forward to booking our next year's trip with them to Peru/Chile next winter as well!
Big thank you to both

I would highly recommend using Knowmad Adventures for your travel plans to South America. My husband and I recently traveled to Patagonia and Rapa Nui and everything was perfect. Knowmad was the only travel agent that took the time to meet with us to understand what we wanted out of our vacation and they were able to build a trip that met our needs 100%. Every transfer was perfect and all drivers and tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel recommendations were spot on.

We really appreciated Renee's guidance in planning our trip. Her personal experience in the area and knowledge made a big difference in tailoring the trip to our budget, interests, and physical capabilities. Olivia made the trip become reality and kept us informed about what to expect and what to do should the unexpected happen.

At the start of our trip, I thought that Machu Picchu and the Galapagos would be the highlights, but there was something special and memorable each day. Our guide in Peru, Nick, was fabulous. He had the flexibility to tailor the trip to our interests. He added wonderful stops along the way including Qorikancha (the most important Incan temple), a museum of pre-Incan cultures, the Wednesday market in Urubamba (an amazing variety of produce, animals, and other products), and the planetarium in Cusco.

Our itinerary included a visit to a weaving cooperative in the Amaru village. They surprised us by greeting us with flower petals and music. They not only demonstrated the art of making beautiful textiles, they also generously shared many aspects of their culture. We even made tea with fresh herbs, which was wonderfully fragrant and absolutely delicious!

Throughout our time in the Sacred Valley and at Machu Picchu, we were amazed by the landscape around us, incredibly steep mountains and many agricultural terraces that people farm to this day.

Machu Picchu was every bit as impressive as we expected. It's fascinating to know that Cusco was actually the capital of the Incan empire and Machu Picchu was one of several important cities around Cusco.

As we cruised the Galapagos, it was amazing to see how calm the birds and other animals were when we were nearby, whether in a dinghy or on a trail. Our youngest discovered a passion for snorkeling. I was astounded by the prickly pear cactus trees, much bigger than the prickly pears in Texas.

Someday I'd like to return to the Sacred Valley and in the meantime I want to learn Spanish. Hats off to the wonderful staff at Knowmad and the guides working with them in Peru and Ecuador!

In my wildest dreams, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything was wonderful down to the smallest detail was brilliant. The Yacht, the people, the crew, the drivers, various waitstaff -- everything defied my expectations. Knowmad recommended Hacienda Zuleta on the backend of our trip and wow, I now know what good food really is. I could care less about food and the chef had me taking pictures of everything he made - it was that good! They were so welcoming and getting the chance to speak with the ex-President's daughter was such a wonderful treat. It doesn't feel like a hotel, it feels like someone's 5 star home that is happy to host guests. Thank you Knowmad for planning a dream trip 30 years in the making!

We used Knowmad's service in May of 2017 to travel to Peru and the Amazon. Jordan was able to accommodate nine of us w/out any issues. He and his team answered all our questions, pulled permits and assist w/any and every request we had. Not only did we receive a trip of lifetime, but w/Knowmad, we received excellent customer service, history lessons, and outstanding food while on our trip. We had a glitch in our travel to the Amazon, which in turn we lost one day and excursions, but they made it right and it was seamless, which made us roll w/the punches and it just made it a part of our experience and something to talk about later. I will be traveling back to South America, next time Argentina and will be sure to use Knowmad Adventures. They are pros at what they do and the best in the business!

We just returned from a magical trip to Ecuador, thanks to the amazing team at Knowmad. We explored the Amazon, the Galapagos and the highlands and we could not have been happier with the excursions, accommodations, food, and cultural experiences. We traveled with another couple and Knowmad did a terrific job at listening to our priorities and and designing a itinerary that heeded our budget and suited each of us. They provided excellent prep materials and also helped us navigate the travel insurance. We are usually independent travelers, but working with Knowmad proved why using an agency with deep experience can make traveling truly special.

Knowmad adventures planned an amazing trip for us to Patagonia and Easter Island, along with a few other places in Chile. We were nervous about traveling to remote locations but the Knowmad team did an amazing job arranging all the travel and activities. The hotels they picked for us matched our preferences well, and the team organized tours and other activities (e.g. wine tasting, bird watching) for us with insightful and friendly guides.

During Feb/March 2023 my husband and I spent one month traveling Argentine, Antarctica and Chili. We selected Knowmad again after using them 8 years ago when we hiked to Machu Picchu. We were extremely pleased with them back then and equally pleased with them for this trip. We highly recommend Knowmad. Thanks to their flawless attention to detail and well vetted unique excursions and accommodations - this truly was the trip of a lifetime.

We worked with Renee to put together the most spectacular itinerary and with Luke who meticulously managed all the details after we finalized the itinerary. We started in Buenos Aires then flew up to Iguazu Falls then flew to Ushuaia for a cruise to Antarctica. Came back to Ushuaia then to El Calafante, Patagonia Camp, Santiago and ended in Valparaiso - with several vineyard tours along the way. The transfers were flawless (and yes, there were many), the accommodations were very comfortable and unique to the area - several also had phenomenal on-site restaurants, the guides were very knowledgeable and without exception went above and beyond offering us suggestions on other places to see while we had "free time".

It's hard to choose my favorite part of the trip b/c we loved every aspect but I could easily have spent a month at Pat Camp.

We have already recommended Knowmad to several friends and will continue to recommend them to anyone who wants a 5 star authentic South American experience. Hands down - they're the best!
