Close to everything! The staff is so kind and the views are SPECTACULAR! We got to see several motorcades from our room and we are within walking distance of monuments and all sorts of other attractions. Love this hotel and it will probably be our go-to when we’re in DC. The only small complaint is that the rooms could be slightly bigger and that the bathroom door is just a sliding door, not a traditional one with hinges. Still, the location, views, and service make up for those small issues.

If you're looking for a luxurious stay in the heart of Washington, DC, the JW Marriott Washington, DC is an excellent choice. I had the pleasure of staying there a few years ago when I was volunteering at a conference. Even though I was only in town temporarily, my experience at the JW Marriott left such a lasting impression that I often recommend it to friends and visitors now that I live in DC full-time.

Located just a short walk from iconic landmarks like the White House, the National Mall, and numerous Smithsonian museums, the JW Marriott is perfectly situated for both first-time visitors and locals who want to explore the city's best attractions. Its central location makes it easy to get around, whether you're walking, hopping on the metro, or grabbing a quick ride share.

As a guest, I was immediately impressed by the hotel's sleek and modern design, blending sophistication with comfort. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, offering a perfect retreat after a long day of conference activities. The hotel’s service was top-notch — staff was friendly and attentive, which made my stay feel even more special.

The on-site restaurant offers a great selection of meals, and if you're looking for something more casual or to venture outside, there are countless dining options nearby. I was also lucky to have had the opportunity to use the fitness center, which is fully equipped for a great workout.

One of the best things about the JW Marriott, especially for events, is the conference facilities. The meeting rooms are large and equipped with the latest tech, making it a prime location for hosting business meetings or conferences. I was volunteering during a big event, and everything went smoothly — the staff made sure everything ran on time and with precision.

Now that I live in DC full-time, I frequently find myself walking past the hotel, and I always feel a sense of nostalgia about my time there. It’s definitely a great place for visitors and offers a luxurious experience with all the perks of staying in the heart of the city. Whether you're here for work, a conference, or just a quick getaway, the JW Marriott is a place that offers both comfort and convenience.

We had a great room. Very comfortable and clean. Beds were very comfortable Breakfast was great - not free but worth the price. Location was also great. Washington was getting ready for Trumps inauguration so barricades were going up all over the place which made sightseeing difficult but that was not the fault of the hotel! They did their best to help get taxis through all the chaos .|We plan on staying there again

Super clean, friendly, comfortable hotel in a great location. The food wasn’t great but there’s a lot of local options so it’s not an issue. The rooms are well appointed and the concierge super helpful. On Christmas Day my son was given a cookie decorating kit which was a lovely touch

While the location of this hotel was great - we’ve also stayed at the Willard across the street and had a far better experience. From the start we had to ask for help to unload our bags at the valet, which should have been a sign that this was not the luxury experience we expected at a JW Marriott The rooms are pretty basic, housekeeping left a lot to be desired during our stay - one day not even showing up until nearly 5p while we were changing for dinner. |We also had two rooms and they put us on separate floors, even though we’d pre-requested adjoining rooms or adjacent if that wasn’t possible. We did appreciate the view though. |We ate breakfast at the hotel only one day - it was not very good at all and we chose to eat elsewhere the following days.

The hotel’s location can’t be beat. It was nearby and walkable to everything. The employees were very nice and the rooms were comfortable. We had a great view of the washington monument and some of the other amazing Washington D.C. sites. While we weren’t there for anything at the hotel, there were quite a few conferences going on and they were super nice.

The location of this hotel is amazing!! You can easily walk to many DC attractions and there are many great restaurants nearby. The lobby is beautiful and there are many well appointed sitting areas and work stations. The staff is mostly friendly. |I did not give this hotel a five star rating due to the very small rooms and small beds and the extremely expensive parking which is valet only so on top of the $69 per night parking. You are also tipping each time you need to drive your car. |I would definitely recommend this hotel for cleanliness and location and good service.

Our stay at the Marriott next to the National Mall was perfect. The folks at check-in were friendly, efficient, helpful. The room was clean, quiet, roomy (with a seating area and attached bathroom. ) The room temperature was easily adjusted, wifi was good, 24 hour room service and valet service were good. Valet parking is expensive, but we opted to use its convenience. Most importantly, JW Marriott's is located in the same block as the National Theater, along Freedom Plaza, a couple of blocks from the White House and Ebbitt's Grill and from Metro Center. Driving in from Virginia was simple: follow I-66 all the way, and one left onto 14th street, and you're there. We had a wonderful weekend.
