My wife & I were very happy with our stay here. Budget-friendly, clean, good TV, friendly owner. You will have to call to make a reservation, but it's worth it. After 5 days camping it was nice to have a clean bed and bathroom. The towels are amazing.

If you're looking for The Ritz, move on. But if you want a clean, comfortable place to lay your head give this one a try. This is a family run business and the owner shared a wealth of information and tips for the area, including a nice place for breakfast the next morning. All of his recommendations made us wish we had time to stay a few more days to explore the area. The decor is a bit dated, but it is clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and we all slept well. The towels were fresh and fluffy. The shower had great water pressure and had an ample supply of hot water. The fridge/freezer combo was larger than we uually see in hotels. S nuce surprise. The only complaint we had was the fact that the rooms aren't very soundproof. Not a big problem for us, as our neighbors were fairly quiet. After all is said and done, I would stay here again and would recommend it to others. One more thing to be aware of. If there is some kind of emergency while you're there, an air siren will sound to call the volunteer emergency responders. So don't panic if you here it.

Horrible! Would not recommend to anyone. Owner is a complete d*** , our heater wasn’t working so we called the front desk and asked if they could fix it. The owner asked us to leave because I wasn’t there when my boyfriend checked in. Almost didn’t wanna give back our money!

Humboldt Gables Motel is an older motel but has been well cared for. Calling to make a reservation was easy, as was check in. The room was spacious and very clean. There was a small , refrigerator, a microwave, coffee maker, a table and two chairs, smart tv, wifi. It takes a while to get the hot water to the shower but once you do there is plenty of water pressure and the hot shower is enjoyable. There are laundry facilities available for a small fee. The owner is a very caring person and willing to share information about things in the area to see. If we are ever in this area again this is where we will stay.

Last minute reservation so was a bit pricy but thats life! Older motel but well maintained. Rooms were immaculate and linnen and towels sparkling clean and fluffy. Fridge and microwave worked well and coffee from the machine was really tasty. Owner was friendly and welcoming. Would certainly recommend staying here if in the area. BUT.. Be aware that there are absolutely no restaurants open in Rio Dell on a MONDAY evening!!

Decided to stop here bc it was the closest motel to us when we decided to be done driving for the evening. What a fortuitous decision that turned out to be! The area is very quiet and so was the motel. Although the rooms look a bit vintage, they are comfortable & incredibly clean. Like, incredibly. The towels are amazingly soft & the shower has great pressure with plenty of hot water. There are also ceiling fans in the room, which I have never seen before. That was a great touch, for me. If you're looking for a comfy place to spend the night, look no further.

We were traveling up the the coast of California on a road trip to the Coast of Oregon the week of July 4th and found this perfect little spot for us (2 adults) and our Cocker Spaniel. There was a $22 pet fee but had no problem paying that as we have paid more. I called prior to make sure there was a room available. When we arrived the owner was kind enough to inform us of local restaurants that were still open and what we stops we might want to make the next day on our way out. I would stay here again.
