I'm a local and have been to several traveling musicals there in the last 6 months. It's a beautiful place with an old-world charm. The restaurant, bar and event rooms are beautiful, although I've never eaten there. The only improvements I can recommend are to update the bathrooms around the theater and keep them clean and stocked during shows. During intermission of a show I saw in Feb 2025, half the ladies' stalls were out of t.p. The benches on the ladies room look to be the same ones I had my picture taken on in 1986. I also wish the DE.CO food hall was open on a weekend night longer.

I firmly believe the only reason this place is still in business is because it has a beautiful event space and many weddings are held there.

I attended a wedding and stayed at the hotel the weekend of Valentine’s Day 2025. The event was beautifully organized and executed flawlessly. I would definitely highly recommend the venue and catering, just not having guests stay at the hotel.

This is NOT a 5 star hotel. It may have been in the 80-90s but it is no longer. The rooms are in desperate need of repairs and the furniture is decrepit. The rooms are large but their upkeep is bordering on derelict.

For additional context of how bad the experience was, our room flooded. Not just a little puddle… INCHES of water which accumulated overnight because of a leak in the room above. I was moved to a room on a higher floor and found a flea on my dress as soon as I put it on the disgusting old sofa. I had housekeeping/maintenance check and they weren’t able to find other fleas so we felt assured and stayed in the room. We woke up with bites.

Because of all of this, they did end up comping the weekend, which we appreciated. However, I will never recommend this hotel.

An elegant and delicious birthday dinner with a Winner! Everything from parking to greetings was all in step. Le Cavalier was a fabulous choice, and it speaks for itself!

Had a lovely afternoon tea. So glad this beautiful space is being used in different ways. Great idea to bring this back. Scones were delicious. Great selection of sandwiches, pastries, and teas. Everyone was very professional and attentive. Service from Tawanda was excellent!

My stay was very nice. My room was a nice size and the bed comfortable. It was also clean. The doorman Paris was also very helpful and respectful. He cracked a few jokes and made me feel very welcome. When I come back this summer I hope he’s still there!

I brought a large team to Wilmington for a multi-week trial and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations at the DuPont. Our team travels out of state regularly, often for long periods of time, and I can honestly say that the DuPont was one of the best hotels we have worked with.||They have ample meeting spaces, including a secure suite of private offices - which is where we ultimately worked. The hotel had a couple of different dining options and an attached food hall - which worked well for anyone that didn't want what was being catered in each meal. For several days we had banquet service for the entire team, which was always very good, and the hotel provided a private dining room attended by very courteous and professional staff.||All of the staff were outstanding, from the bellmen to the management. I would especially recommend working directly with Merella Merulla in sales and Melissa Shaffer the Conference Services Manager. Whatever you or your team needs, they will put it together for you or find you someone who can.

This is a huge shout out to the Hotel Dupont Security Team member David who went above and beyond for us. When inquiring about taxi / ride availability he quickly offered the Hotel shuttle. He was genuinely friendly, helpful and professional. People like David are what make the Hotel Dupont a very special experience.

Wonderful experience with Hotel du Pont for our wedding weekend. We had many friends and family stay here for our wedding at Winterthur. The girls got ready in the Winterthur suite which was lovely- we had great food catered by the hotel and the room was beautiful. Our personal suite we stayed in was massive and clean. The only frustrating thing was the thermostat wasn’t cooperating- it was often very hot in our room and we couldn’t get it to cool down. Great stay overall!!
