Stayed here while visiting family in Castle Rock. Location is good, right next to Outlets and easy access to the highway. The room was a reasonable size and the bed was comfortable. The front desk staff was nice, attentive.

The low rating is primarily due to the bathroom shower and housekeeping.

Shower: the shower was not scrubbed from the previous guest as there was dark colored soap scum on the shelving. The shower head wasn't functional and the sliding door would not remain closed. The soap dispensers on the wall were broken making it difficult to pump soap.

Housekeeping: Housekeeping would regularly take the two hanging towels but only replace with one, causing us to run out of towels every other day. The room didn't seem to be properly turned over between guests as the ice bucket was full of water from the previous guest and the floor had not been vacuumed. The walls were also gross with what seemed to be lotion. There was a stain on the comforter.

We stayed last year and had no issues, but based on our experience from this year, will look for other options for next year.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Everyone greeted you with a smile. A great range of savory and sweet options for breakfast. Hotel is very close to other restaurants and the Outlet Shopping Centre where you can grab great bargains. I will definitely stay here again and again.
Thanks to Lolita who works during the breakfast hours, you made this stay very pleasant. Much Appreciated

Good location, and probably one of the best holiday inns I’ve ever been to. Very friendly staff, decent breakfast, and a warm hot tub. Most importantly quiet. 5/5 from me on all fronts.

Front desk staff was rude on every interaction. I asked if I could buy a beer and got a lecture about beer not being available on the premises or anywhere in Colorado (I’m a native, I know the rules). I asked the front desk for a water, in accordance with a sign in the breakfast area which clearly stated “our water machine is broken, ask the front desk for a water”. The front desk staff had no clue what I wanted and acted like I had asked for a gold bar.

Cleaning staff came charging into the room at 0800 without so much as a knock. We had not given any indication we would be checking out this early.

The bedside phone was inoperative. The shower drain was broken and would not stay open without being pried open and mechanically held. Some of the parts were literally in the tub. I’m fairly handy and would have fixed it but some of the parts were gone. We ended up stuffing a folded up plastic cup under the drain cap to hold it open so we could shower. The front desk could not have cared less when I told them about it. No offer to have engineering come take a look, no offer to “make it right” in any way.

This whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth about Holiday Inn Express properties.

Thomas was fantastic! We came in later in the night and he was very thorough and kind. After we checked in he noticed we had a trailer and came outside to let us know the best place to park. He was very personable and on top of everything!! You can truly tell he takes pride in his job.

The reason for 4 stars is the woman working the front desk was pretty grumpy. When we checked out she was consumed with something on her cellphone, and was pretty cold to another customer ahead of me. I wanted to give compliments to Thomas so I asked if she was the manager, she replied with “I’m the front desk manager, why? What’s wrong”. I’m sure they get people complaining all the time, but my suggestion would be to not respond so negatively right out the gate?

The other thing I would comment on is that the hot tub was very room temperature. Would have loved it to be hotter with some jets.

5 stars for Thomas, and 5 stars for everything else! Very clean and comfortable place to stay!!

I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Castle Rock for business over the last four trips, and I’ve encountered significant issues with their check-in policies. Not all employees seem to follow the same procedures; some insist on seeing my ID while others insist on needing to handle the identification themselves rather than looking at it from insisting they can see the date that is clearly marked. Despite my requests, no one can provide a clear explanation of these policies, and it’s frustrating to find that there’s rarely a manager on duty to address concerns.

During my last visit, when I finally asked to speak with someone about the inconsistencies, they called the police and claimed I was not welcome to stay. This response was shocking and unprofessional. My experiences have left me feeling unwelcome and confused, and I cannot recommend this location for business travelers.

My ID was out of my wallet and in my hand, clearly visible to the clerk. Despite this, she chose not to acknowledge it and was uncooperative. My so-called "threat," which led to her calling Carol (the manager) and then the police, was simply me stating that she was being unreasonable.

There was an elderly couple checking in behind me who witnessed the entire situation, and they did not seem threatened by my behavior in any way. I have no criminal record, am fully employed by a school district, and was there for business and medical purposes.

I didn’t want her handling more of my property than necessary due to personal medical reasons, which I felt I didn’t need to disclose. However, because she refused to explain the policy, was rude, and wouldn’t allow me to speak with a manager without causing a scene, this situation has escalated. I will now be contacting higher-ups in the IHG corporation.

Rooms were clean. Breakfast was amazing. Hot tub and pool area was nice. Otherwise was great getting in the hot tub after a long day....a lot of places are getting rid of them.

Stayed for three nights during a work trip. Hotel was clean, quiet and the AC worked great. Bathroom was modern and clean. Complimentary breakfast had just what you need to start your day. Would stay here again.
