Nice size room fitted bed sheet is extremely rough, needed to sleep on the top sheet with comforter. This happens from washing these items in extra hot water, bleach and no softener.
Bed was a bit softer than the previous night which I stayed in a Holiday Inn hotel not express. That bed was extremely hard.
Location is not bad, really didn't hear much noise.
Shower temperature and water pressure was perfect.
Towels and bit rough.
Wifi was strong in my room.
Good business choice for overnight stay.
Tasty breakfast too. 😋

My husband and I have stayed here several times. It is almost like our home away from home when we come up to the Bay Area to visit. It only took a couple of visits for the staff to learn our names. And even though we visit less regularly now, they still remember our names. We feel completely safe and at home here. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious, and there is free parking. There is also free breakfast, which is adequate, but oh, the cinnamon rolls. You have to try the cinnamon rolls. There is a small but adequate gym but the hidden secret is the sauna and hot tub. There are also many things in walking distance. We've walked to the Wendy's, the mini-golf, and a cute little cafe on an opposing side street. Highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express.

My visit, as always, was exceptional. I truly enjoy the breakfast 😋 and the jetted two person bathtub, although I come to relax alone. Thank you for your high standards and attention to details. I will most definitely be back!

Every worker person from front desk to breakfast room to room cleaners was very friendly. Felt safe here. Room spacious clean, decent television. Breakfast was good. A few blocks from this place is a Japanese garden, who knew? The freeway facing rooms are not that loud it is more of a green noise if you sleep to that the rooms also face the boulevard. I tried the pancake machine my only suggestion would be to swap that machine for a waffle iron setup instead.

We have stayed here for many years. Love proximity to Oakland/San Jose airport and bay area venues and Castro Valley BART station (Bay Area Rapid Transit) 0.9 mile away. Easy access to freeways. New ownership. This used to be a Comfort Inn and owner switched to Holiday Inn. That owner has since retired and new ownership. Hotel pretty much same still with great staff. Breakfast room now requires room key access which is completely understood. "Hot buffet breakfast" was terrible. There is a Wendys and Mcdonalds just across the street. We stay here for convenience. Comfortable beds, clean rooms though dressers could use some "Old English" polish to hide all the scratches. Quiet place but recommend staying in rooms on the East side (Castro Valley Blvd) so as to avoid freeway noise. Close to freeway exit with peewee golf, Wendys, Mcdonalds, gas stations and donut shop and Ace hardware store in walking distance. LG tvs with Dish Network that we could not get our roku to work with. booooo

I checked into the hotel at 345 am after a long shift in the ER. I had to be back at work in less than 8 hours so i chose to go to a hotel instead of drive almost an hour home. After settling in and falling asleep, I was awakened at 830am by housekeeping knocking on the door. On the entire 4th floor as far as I could see, I was the only room on the hall with the do not disturb sign posted. If check out time is at 11, WHY WAS I DISTURBED AND WOKEN UP AT 830?!?!?!? I complained to the front desk, nothing was done. I even emailed the manager and of course he didn't respond. I went to sleep and rest but was unable to do that because once I was rudely awakened, I could not go back to sleep. I will never stay at this location again and I will never suggest it to anyone else that's going for business/rest.

This was a very good hotel experience. Everything from employees, cleanliness of room, convenience and comfort was a pleasant surprise. We plan to come back again.

Hard to find a safe neighborhood to stay in the Bay area after arriving late from a flight and need to sleep off the fatigue before heading home the next day. This hotel is close enough to SFO to not have to drive too far, and yet far enough from SF area to feel safer and also but have parking fees. Hotel is pretty clean overall and so was our room. We were very tired so we slept quite well. Breakfast the next morning was adequate, but not plentiful as it was the standard HIE breakfast fare, but only 1 kind of fruit and limited bread choices as well (like only sliced white bread for toast). We only stayed 1 night and arrived quite late so no experience with the pool which was probably close since it was winter time and also didn't get to use the gym if there were one, we didn't check. Not a bad location and it felt quite safe and on route to head back on our way home the next day without having to drive out of the way, so overall it was a good stay and we'd stay here again in the future if the need arises.
