The hotel is a bit dated but very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed having a balcony. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. It's a great location for joining a tour of Canyon de Chelly or driving the north or south rims. We had a yummy Navajo taco in the restaurant. Bring drinking water. The hotel water is discolored. You can also get filtered water in the fitness room. I recommend staying here for a Canyon de Chelly visit.

This was a very nice hotel in Chinle. We took a Canyon de Chelly tour, scheduled at 2pm, and the hotel staff allowed us to check in 2 hours early, which was nice for us to get settled in before our tour. The room was very nice and clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable and we did have a good night's sleep. 12pm check out was great because we needed the extra time. |There is a restaurant there and we are there after our tour. Menu and prices are good. We shared a Navajo burger and I'm glad we shared because the portion was huge. |There is a pool here but we didn't use it, and there was a guest laundry that I did use. The grounds were beautiful and clean, but I did question the green water in the pool which was why we didn't use it. |Our only disappointment was the gift shop that is now permanently closed. It looked so great in the pictures. There is a visitors center next to the hotel but that gift shop looked better.|All of the hotel staff was great. We would stay again.

We came here two times in late October. Both times were problem:
1. They told us when the dinner time ready but it wasn’t valuable due to dinner reserved by group.
2. We always book room with breakfast when we travel. We confirmed that with them both on the phone when we booked and when we checked in, but we still got separated charge for the breakfast. They called it lunch buffet, no toast, very few choices. I would choose Denny’s for better price.
3.I can accept the water is yellow if they did their service right.
4. Different Staffs can’t keep same information of our requests. , we always book first floor and confirm with it otherwise we choose another hotel, when we checked in, they just put us on second floor we have to wait for they reset up rooms.

We were upset for two times. We promise us we won’t came back again. We have no problems with another Holiday Inn, We travel a lot.

Facility ok but there’s junk all over. Had to maneuver around a mountain of laundry to get in the door.||Desk manager was surly.||Had better wifi in the Yukon in 2003. This is unacceptable. It doesn’t cost much to supply decent wifi and most travelers rely expect and rely on it.||But nothing can spoil the Canyon de Chelly experience. It’s pure magic.

Breakfast is a rip off 😐 - We booked a room for 3 including breakfast but got only breakfast for 2 and had to pay additional for the 3rd guest. This 'max 2 free included breakfast hotel policy' is not mentioned during on-line booking in any way. They are not open about that, they only refer to this policy in the fine print of the reservation confirmation mail. | - We were offered additional breakfast voucher for 10 dollars, which was refused to us when we went to get it next morning, so we had to order for our 3rd person at full price.| - Breakfast is far more expensive than pricing on the menu at the website.| - They charge additional tax on 'included' breakfast, although the breakfast voucher only excludes drinks and tip| - Breakfast quality far below par and extremely overpriced, for small portions.| - Horrible tasting tab water (other guests also complained)| - Slow, took over 30 minutes te get served with only few other guests, getting the check took ages after power outage.| |Feels like a total scam in every way.||General: | - old worn rooms| - curtains of several rooms torn| - paperthin walls| - Old noisy airconditioning| - Airco filters seem to need cleaning| - Ice machine defect|This hotel needs serious update and maintenance||This was by far the worst Holiday Inn we stayed at in over 25 years and IHG refers to hotel management at Chinle instead of helping us out.||Full detailed story:||We booked two rooms including breakfast : 1 for 2 guests and 1 for 3 guests||Upon arrival we were told that we needed to get an additional breakfast voucher for 10 dollars for the 3rd person in our room. Hotel policy was told to be max 2 breakfast included per room.|However, it didn't say anything about this policy during the booking process, neither any mentioning of any additional fees/charges for additional peoples breakfast, nor any possibility to book additional breakfast for 3rd guest in the room. See screenshots. |It apparently only says so in the fine print of the e-mail confirmation of the booking. Feels like a scam that they are not open and honest about it during booking and that they don't enable to book breakfast for additional guests in a room.||When we checked out the menu on the website we noticed breakfast options were priced at 6,50 to 9,25 which seemed weird as they wanted us to buy a 10 dollar voucher for the 3rd guest. (Drinks and tips not included) See foto of voucher. ||We called holiday inn to complain and help us out hopefully before breakfast. However, no response.||Things only got more of a scam next morning.|The menu we got at the restaurant showed prices almost twice as much as the prices indicated on the website, see foto.||My hubby went to get the additional 10 dollar breakfast voucher at the front desk. However we could not get any. No vouchers for sale, though they told us otherwise yesterday. Like whuttttt. My hubby referred to the conversation he and my daughters had yesterday, in this guys presence. |He denied having said that, which was technically correct as not he but his colleague right beside him had said so. Though not he had said so, he sure was aware of what my husband and daughters had been told by his colleague. ||Supposedly we should have booked 3rd guest breakfast with our hotel reservation but the reservation process offers no such option, doesn't even inform you only 2x breakfast is included. ||After breakfast, which quality wise was far below what one would expect for the price, cold drooly eggs, burnt toast, soily tasting fruit.|We had to pay for the additional breakfast full price and also got charged for tax on 3x breakfast. |My oldest daughter and son in law were presented a check for 2,97 for the tax on their 'included' breakfast, how petty. And also incorrect as tax was not excluded according to the voucher. First time in our lives we had to pay additionally for tax on included breakfast. ||Hotel:|This hotel is due for serious update. Several curtains of other rooms (not ours) torn, paperthin walls. Old noisy airconditioning... Think filters need cleaning as we got drippy noses. Shower so low only kids can stand under it, ice cubes machine defect. No referral note to alternative machine. We finally found one in another building, with help from a kind maid, the only kind person we encountered at this hotel.||Hotel restaurant:|Breakfast was horrible in every way, see above.|No dinner experience as we were seriously annoyed with the breakfast voucher scam and decided to have dinner at Denny's (absolutely go there, super Dennys location, one of the better. Good quality food and an extremely sweet server).||Guess Holiday Inn will say their restaurant is an external business so that I should post that as a review of them but it is what you get as breakfast included in your reservation at Holiday Inn. So be aware this is what you will get and this is far below most hotel breakfast standard.

A good Hotel in a great surrounding in a green oasis. Very nice pool area. Windows could be opened, little outside seating options, very quiet and peaceful. I don’t understand negative comments. Absolutely worth the value and the best option in Chinle.

Please follow my advise. Do not stay at this place. I had a reservation 2 weeks in advance paid. I had my flight delayed for
one day and when I got to the hotel that simple told me that they were sold out. How can you guys do that to someone that comes very far away to stay at the hotel? Never ever booking with you guys again.

As an IHG Platinum Rewards Member, this was the most disappointing IHG Hotel I had ever stayed at. I highly recommend IHG perform an internal audit of this hotel's amenities, processes, and procedures...and possibly strip it of the "Holiday Inn" name.

WiFi in the room was unreliable. If you want more consistent internet, go into the hallway. Unacceptable.

The outdoor pool water was green and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for days. (Its probably deficient in chlorine, shock, and/or algaecide.) Unacceptable.

The water in the shower/bath smelled of Sulphur. Hoping my family doesn't smell like that today!Unacceptable.

Our room was for two adults and two kids, but the towel math added up to three towels. That meant a trip to the front desk that was manned by someone that was very polite and considerate but also appeared to have had very little training. I do not blame him, but I do blame management as that issue originated from Housekeeping. Unacceptable.

If you have a nonrefundable reservation here, get prepared for disappointment and document every issue you have so you can try to get your hard-earned money back.

If you have a refundable reservation, start looking for a suitable replacement.

If you represent IHG Corporate, I encourage a full internal audit of this hotel's amenities, processes, and procedures as, location and scarcity aside, guests are not getting the value they normally expect from this chain.
