High Shoals Cabins - Mt Ida, Arkansas

What an amazing place. Spent a few days there with my family on a trip to mt Ida to dig for quartz and fish. We stayed in Cabin 1. Quiet, very clean and cozy, plenty of room, nestled in the forest. Saw deer and spotted fawn every morning, caught catfish, large and smallmouth bass, and beautiful perch. floated and swam in river. Made our way out to Wagner mine which was very close. Alan was an Excellent host, what a beautiful place this is. Easy river access and its private, we walked down the river quite aways down. Beautiful. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you, Alan, for a great vacation!

I booked cabin 1 for my stay. Wanted something off the beaten path. It’s a great place away from home. Can hear the river off the back deck. Nice and quiet. Saw lots of deer. It’s also pet friendly, so I got to bring my dog with me. Prices are reasonable.

These Cabins are beautiful. Took the grandchildren there this last weekend and let me tell you " it was absolutely gorgeous there. The Cabins are wonderful. The river is full of fish and beautiful. It was so good for the soul.
Cannot wait to go back. We didn't have internet but that was fine. They do have signal at Cabins 1 and 2 but 3 did not. Believe me when I say it doesn't matter. We went to the Diamond Crater and I wish we would had just stayed at the Cabin. Next time we will. I highly recommend it.

We just got back from a 4 night stay in Cabin #1. I personally feel the pictures on the High Shoals website should be updated b/c the cabin was even more adorable and bigger than what the current pictures reflect. The cabin was super clean and the property was gorgeous. The owner was very nice and made sure our cabin was supplied with plenty of clean towels, washcloths, kitchen towels, dishwashing liquid, etc. etc. and even had aluminum foil, spices, coffee filters, and matches. The view to the river was great and we spent a whole day on it just fishing and swimming. We saw a bald eagle, deer, turtles, rabbits, and the most gorgeous hawk I've ever seen. Way closer to Mt. Ida than I expected as well.

Our family of 4 fit comfortably with plenty of space in the beautiful Cabin #2. Was not expecting all the amenities that was inside the cabin. All the comforts of home; cookware, dishes, cups, utensils, towels, and everything in between. There's a washer and dryer here too and that helped us tremendously! There's wifi if you are on the porch. Beds were comfortable and the kids loved staying in the loft. Some of the tv channels did not have any sound, but we were not there to watch tv so it didn't matter. We even went swimming in the river behind the cabin and took a trip on the canoe as a family. Also, used the grill once for supper and surprised how nice it was. We were very thankful to be there. Definitely will stay here again in the future if we come to the area. This was a wonderful time spending our final days here at High Shoals Cabins on our family vacation to Arkansas. Owner is super friendly and informative. A little advice is to expect a 20 minute drive off the main road to reach the cabins. Well worth being in the sticks to enjoy some family time. I highly recommend this place!!

I have always wanted to take my dog Hershey camping. We have been on vacations, but never to a cabin. He is aging and I wanted to do this before he is too old to travel. I rented cabin 2 for a couple of nights and I am so glad I did. Hershey is not that active, so this was the perfect place to go and relax. It was still hot so we didn't do much, but that was my plan anyway. We stayed and explored the property, saw herds of deer in the mornings, and fireflies in the evenings. Also, we walked down to the river. It was very peaceful. Our whole stay was peaceful.

Alan was very nice and accommodating. Although I had everything I needed, he made sure I knew that if there was anything I needed, to contact him. Overall, you can't go wrong going to this place.

I enjoyed my stay at Cabin 4, as did the other 5 members of my family. The cabin was clean, very roomy, and easy to get to. As we went to the nearby Twin Creeks Crystal mine and found a decent amount of Quartz crystals, the wash table in back of the cabin was much appreciated! Alan (the owner) was very friendly and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend High Shoals cabins to anyone wanting to vacation in the area, and I'd definitely recommend Cabin 4 for families. Thank you Alan!

We loved our stay. Just no internet in Cabin#3. River was beautiful. Had a lot of fun fishing and rock hunting. I recommend these cabins. The price Was Very reasonable too.
