I don’t usually bother with hotel reviews, but I also don’t usually find people working at hotels who are quite as friendly and helpful.

What stood out about staying here was the absolutely amazing help at the front desk. Carla and the person working with her were extremely helpful and friendly.

The room was clean and in good shape for a reasonable price.

The coffee and tea and food set up in the lobby were also very nice.

I think they have found the sweet spot between budget and quality here.

7 minute drive to town, great location.

My lady and I had a great week here. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful, we met multiple guests who were friendly as well, we enjoyed time in the pool and hot tub. The spot is great if you want to be out of downtown. It's convenient to the highway and shopping Plazas as well. If not for seeing family on our trip, I'm sure we could have never left more than a mile from the hotel. 100% when we come back to Portsmouth, here is where we'll stay.

Just completing our stay here. Great value. Pool and hot tub were clean and nice my kids really enjoyed them. Beds comfy and rooms clean. Really good free breakfast. Eggs, smoked maple sausage, waffle makers, oatmeal, pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit, juices and coffee. Obviously not right “downtown” but if you want to save some $$ and don’t mind driving a little more, it’s a great spot. Staff very welcoming and friendly also.

I absolutely enjoyed our stay! Walking in was magical with the holiday decor. It smelled like cinnamon. Very festive and welcoming. Some rooms are being updated which is normal for any good establishment to do. My one and only gripe but definitely not worth losing a star over would be the pool area. It was 💯 the fault of the lack of supervision on the parents part. The hot tub had so much chlorine in it my tank top changed color. Again at least it was clean 😂 super welcoming and I would 💯 recommend it!

Great stay here I came into town to visit the local passport office early next morning and Mike was super helpful throughout the whole experience. One oddity was my room had all daylight (vs soft white) bulbs but they are in the process of renovating and it wasn’t a huge deal. Location and service were excellent!

Positive: the front desk clerk at Durgin Lane Hampton Inn was phenomenal! A true gem.ALL of the staff were amazing & I?ll come back because of them.Breakfast was great. They decorated SO NICE for the holidays!Great central location. Negative: NOT a good idea to have carpeting in the pet friendly rooms. Love the hot tub and pool, but the bubbles kept shutting off.

My husband and I stayed 4/2-4/5/25. When we booked the hotel we saw that this location was doing construction to update the rooms. We had requested the 5th floor to be away from the construction. We were given the 1st floor with a remodeled room. We were told the 2nd & 4th floors were still under construction. Our room was nice & clean and quiet during the night. Morning breakfast was great every morning. Front staff & breakfast staff were all very friendly.
*1st issue: In the mornings (around 9am), there was very loud construction in the room directly above us. We had to get up early and leave every day to avoid the loud construction noise.
*2nd issue: After long day of walking and exploring, we were looking forward to using the hot tub each night. Hours for the pool/hot tub area is posted as 6am -10pm on the pool door and on the website. We were able to use the hot tub until 10pm for 1night. Then on 4/4, there were a large group of cheerleaders that checked in and small girls using the pool & hot tub for most of the night. We waited patiently (20 minutes) for them to leave and then we were able to use the hot tub at around 8:50pm, which we didn't mind since the previous night we hung out until 10pm. Around 9:05pm, a large man with a black "security" shirt comes into the pool area and starts yelling at us "time to go, pool & hot tub is closed". We said we thought it closed at 10pm, then he yelled back at us - the sign is posted that it closes at 9pm! Very rude - especially since we're adults and he didn't have the courtesy to walk over to us to tell us. Instead he just wanted to shout across the room to us. We immediately left and spoke with the front desk. They had printed a "new sign" with pool hours 6am - 9pm and taped it over the existing sign because they didn't want the little cheerleaders staying up late in the pool area or front lobby. So the entire hotel was under a curfew even for guests not part of the cheerleading groups. We had complained but were told that we had to abide by the new hours.
We always stay at Hilton & Hampton Inns (Hilton Honors members) and have never been treated this way or had the hotel make up their own hours to create a fake curfew for groups that booked the hotel for soccer, cheerleading, etc.
Definitely disappointed as this was our first time in New Hampshire and we only booked this specific location because of the indoor hot tub & pool. What a bummer!

Easy to get to, excellent and friendly staff. There was a representative there asking our opinion on the renovated rooms; they are beautiful. As that is still ongoing, you may not be in one yet.
