Absolutely Disappointed – Stay Far Away!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This hotel was a complete nightmare from start to finish. The customer service—outside of a wonderful employee named Leland—was abysmal. Rude front desk staff, slow responses to issues, and a general attitude of "not my problem" from most of the employees. Leland was the only person who treated guests with respect and actually tried to help. He deserves a raise, a promotion, and a better job at a better hotel.

Now onto the rest of the experience.

Hidden Fees: Be prepared for charges that aren’t disclosed anywhere until checkout. From "resort" fees (for what, exactly?) to random deposits, this place will nickel and dime you with zero transparency.

Room Conditions: Disgusting. The room was barely cleaned. Dirt on the walls, chips in the mirrors, sticky floors, and surfaces, in addition to an awful smell. To top it off, there was NO AIR CONDITIONING. Just a stifling 80-degree room that made sleeping absolutely unbearable.

Amenities? What Amenities?
No microwave.
No mini fridge.

The so-called "fitness center" is laughable—a glorified closet with a couple of dusty treadmills and a giant glass wall so you can sweat in full view of everyone.

No complimentary anything. Not even water.

This hotel is a perfect example of cutting corners while charging top dollar. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else. The only reason I haven’t rated this place in the negatives is because of Leland. If you do end up here (God help you), ask for him. He’s the only redeeming part of this place.

I booked a room on a Sunday because the rates online were cheap. I paid, but when I got to the hotel, there was an additional $50 charge from the hotel for a resort fee and parking. Seriously, on a Sunday? It wasn't busy at all. The young lady at the check in had no personality. You should also get cash before you get to the Golden Nugget. They charge $7.99 to use the ATM. And if somehow you do it wrong getting your cash, it becomes a cash advance out of your own checking account and it cost $22.50 to get your money. Or, you can wait two hours and the transaction expires. Not sure how that happened. I think you can also trade stocks on their ridiculous ATM. The room was decent and had a good view, but it took a while to get it to cool down. That was a plus considering the little time I actually spent in it. So I had that going for me, which was nice.

I miss the good ole days in Tahoe.

When I reserved the room, I was told taxes and fees were included. When I checked in I was charged an additional $111.00 for more taxes and parking. That was for just a 2 day stay. I feel like I was ripped off for $100. I guess I learned an expensive lesson. No fridge. No microwave. A bed, a table with ONE chair, and a desk with a chair. It seems they don't want you to enjoy your room. They want you to go to their sorry little casino and feed the machines. We enjoyed the lake view. And notice the "copy and paste" responses the manager leaves to reviews. I don't think they really care. I think they think "take it or leave it."

If you don’t care about service and you’re only coming to sleep probably you won’t notice anything wrong. If you care about service do not stay here. Like staff has been nice and everything but the overall experience has been bad. Let’s start by saying that we were a group of 15 people and have 5 rooms under our name. Half of our group had to leave the hotel to get another one because the smoke smell is unbearable. They asked me to put my card in with no explanation of the $200 they were charging me. Is not a deposit. Is a hotel and parking fees? I didn’t even have a car? Whatever we had that solved. They supposedly waived the parking fee. Now let’s talk about the room: NO HOT WATER! We only had hot water at 6 am. NO AC! There’s no AC on the rooms because is cold outside. No exhaust fans in the bathroom. So you can imagine the smell and the air flow (if any). We stayed here 4 days and no one cleaned our room, changed sheets, gave us different towels, more coffee or cups or NOTHING. No one took our trash out so we have to sit with trash for all these days. When asked how we could have someone to take our trash out, they asked us to just put it on the hallway and someone would pick it up eventually. No wonder why it has this smell!!! The tub doesn’t drain completely so you have to shower with COLD water covering your feet. The tub is peeling completely because it hasn’t been resurfaced in years. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it. Nice views of the lake tho

This message is for the amex platinum holder, an AMEX platinum cardholder, booking this hotel through AMEX offers no additional benefits. Even early check-in may incur an extra $50 fee, and there are no special parking discounts. Additionally, many amenities, such as the pool and hot tub, were closed during my stay, and the entire hotel was under construction. Plus, regular size water bottle inside your room costco $2 dollars each…. The entrance looked like a construction site, making the stay feel far from worth the price. I do not recommend this hotel.

Clean room but a little pricey. Paid $298.97 for one night. Room was booked for $207 but those resort fees really get ya! Casino was a little small but plenty of options still. Casino drinks also a little pricey but not terrible and the bartender made them pretty strong which helped ease about the price. Overall would recommend since it’s also within walking distance of downtown and all the shops. We had a wonderful view of the lake as well which was beautiful.

Parking to check-in was a bit confusing, but there was some construction, so I'll chalk it up to that. Other than that, the check-in was fast, easy, and efficient. The receptionist was friendly, and welcoming. Informed us of the full check-in, and check-out process. Informed us of all the amenities available to guests. Gave us directions to our rooms upon check-in. The rooms were clean, and immaculate. The bed was comfortable. I have stayed here multiple times, and it's always a great experience.

I give this hotel 5 stars only because “Collin” in maintenance came to the rescue. None of our lamps worked and two were unplugged behind a heavy bed. He came quickly and fixed the issues.
This is something house keeping should have noticed. (I’m a house keeper, I know)
The room was nice but lots of dust behind the bed when pulled out.

Collin also told us where the restaurants were located on the premises and the hours. Thank you Collin! We appreciate you!!!
