We stayed at the Fireside on our way to Burlington, VT. The woman at checkin wasn’t the friendliest. She didn’t answer our questions with certainty or just didn’t want to answer them. Our room was cute and clean. Nothing fancy. Bad thing is they put a stuffed animal on your bed so when you walk in, there it is. Hide your child’s eyes or you are adding a cute stuffed animal to the many others you own. The dinner at the hotel was surprisingly good. The mozzarella sticks were good. The buffalo chicken bites were spicy. A little too spicy. The hamburger was the normal. The con was the breakfast. It was terrible. The juice container was clogged with pulp so the juice dribbled out and the line was crazy waiting for it. The fruit was old and slimy. The choice of muffins, bread was minimal. Toast was stale. The eggs were powdered and nasty. We asked about the waffles and the man said they are closing that station. There was an hour left for breakfast. The did not come over and fill our coffee. It was very disappointing.

Overall I had a good stay. I went to the Masquerade Ball and stayed the night with my girlfriend. The check in process was organized and fast. The staff was informative about the evening’s schedule and gave concise directions to the room.

The room was okay. I took a star in that category because the toilet and mirror were low. I don’t expect everything to accommodate a 6’5ā€ man but I think it’s reasonable to expect that the mirror is higher than 5’ at the top.

I took a star in the service category because when I brought breakfast for two to the room I dropped a plate. I set down the surviving plate and used a towel to clean most of the food off the floor, walls, and door. I didn’t mind vacuuming it myself. I was told no, I couldn’t have a vacuum and it wasn’t the employee’s problem (that’s another department’s problem). In her defense she did tell me she would tell the front desk. However an hour (or longer) later when I check out it still wasn’t cleaned.

The location is great.

Breakfast buffet was good awful.
I bit into a French toast stick moments after they were brought out. It was rock hard. Inedible. I swear they heated up the leftovers from the day before in an air crisper. The food served was done so because they said it came with your room. Not because anyone cared about your dining experience. Stale bread, bagels. Fruit loops were great.
Got one cup of coffee never saw the lady with the coffee for a warm up ever again.
Location is great. Beds lumpy. Nice lobby.

Our room was ancient. It didn’t look clean but when we wiped surfaces down they didn’t look any cleaner. Very tired hotel. Dust marks on the carpet when moving a lamp shows how un-thorough the vacuuming is. Edges of carpeting are covered in dust and debris. The shower had chunks of fiberglass missing. The entire room is in dire need of a refresh, from old worn fixtures to cracked and peeling sealant, old cracked tiles, switches and outlets yellowed with age and unable to hold a plug. Most outlets would not charge devices. The manager should be embarrassed to rent this room in such a sad state. The breakfast was included but we were told at check in it was served until 10 am. The first morning it was, but the second morning we were turned away because it was 9:05 and breakfast was over. The young lady told us 10 am was on the weekend only. We would have planned accordingly had we known that. On the day we had breakfast, most serving trays were empty of food. The man at the entrance took our tickets and waved us to the seating area. No one waited on us and we got our own coffee from the serving station (there was a lady serving but she didn’t acknowledge us). Multiple times hot water was out at the coffee station in the lobby, and when asked at the desk for hot water , I was told to find the other lady and ask her. This young woman kindly brought the water and was clearly rushed off her feet. Still, looked to me this hotel could use some more staff and improve policies and procedures to improve guest experience. While we enjoyed the area and hope to visit again, we won’t be back to the Fireside inn. Photo of the dirty carpet and drapes that are filthy.

From the friendly reception desk, to the convenience of staying "in" and eating at your hotel with a restaurant/bar that is affordable, good sized portions and intimate, this may be for you.
Pool area was spacious with alot of seating and towels to use. The pool and hot tub were decent. Hot tub could be warmer though.
Fireplace in the lobby was a romantic, relaxing touch.
Free breakfast buffet which includes cereals, hot items like biscuits, bacon, and French toast sticks. Fresh juice, coffee, and water available too.
We saved alot of money staying here as it had amenities we were in search of for a March weekend getaway in the mountains.
We will be returning

The Fireside Inn is an incredible hotel. The staff are super friendly, and the level of detail that went into accommodating every guest was above and beyond. I loved how cozy the rooms were, the room was very clean, it had a massage chair and huge TV. The amenities and atmosphere of the public spaces were the most special I’ve ever seen at a hotel. They brought nature inside and a lot of spaces to explore from the open dinning hall surrounded by trees to the pool - I will definitely visit the Fireside Inn again! Thank you to every staff member who made it so lovely.

This was by far my favorite hotel I’ve stayed at and the price was reasonable. I loved the interior of the place. The unique and wide open architecture made for a magical stay. Trees and plants filled the common spaces. The turtles and fish in the indoor courtyard dining area all seemed healthy and thriving in clean water with ample room. I’d highly recommend this inn to anybody who appreciates the curation of a space.

We needed a room for the night in order to avoid some bad wintry weather. The staff were very accommodating and found us a room at the last minute. This hotel is a bit dated but very clean with a reasonable price, nice staff, and a good breakfast. We'd definitely stay here again.
