From the minute we made the first phone call, Discovery Village Assisted Living and all those who work there became a part of our family! They quickly got us moved in and the additional care my mom needed to thrive. She had gone from barely able to walk and interact to being one of the most active members of the community. Every person who has supported us there has been amazing and has exceeded our expectations. We have had experience with other homes and this by far rises to the absolute top. I am open to anyone who has inquiries and am forever grateful to the wonderful people who make up Discovery Village. Thank you for making my mother smile, taking great care of her and giving her family peace of mind and so much more!

My now 92 year old widowed father has been living at Discovery Village at Deerwood since early July 2023. Quite discerning and not always an easy person to please, he is quite comfortable, content, and appreciative of the accommodations within the community.

From my side, what I’ve found remarkable is the overall spirit, professionalism, warmth, empathy, openness, flexibility, and dedication of the staff, from top down and bottom up, including the room servers, nurses and assistants, wait staff, culinary servicers, activities and entertainment staff, faculties personnel, and management, all who work well with residents and one another, a good number who, along with various of the residents, are inspiring and excellent examples and role models in what they do and have to say.

The premises are modern, attractive, upbeat, unpretentious, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike. Issues arise, general or specific, and each is brought to the attention of management and/or staff, is considered in due order and understanding, and a fitting modification is provided.

As in any such type of community, it has perhaps had its share of turnover, but from what I’ve seen all of that has come from situational life changes within staff that reflect well on the community, in each case yielding new personnel then gracefully brought into the fold. In other cases staff members return after stints elsewhere expressing there desire to return. Getting to know various members of the staff, as various members of the community, is to add to one’s family.

I consider it to be one of the great blessings in my life as that of my father to have discovered Discovery Village as a place for him to be living at this stage of his life. As such, I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a senior community within its price range or - the bargain it also happens to be relative to many if not most other senior communities - at a somewhat higher price range.

I will urge you to look at the real reviews before you send a loved one here. This place lacks the care and compassion your loved one deserves. I would never let my loved one go here. They neglect their patience and are extremely rude. Their attitude is far from what I would call acceptable and their communication is awful! Staff turnover rate is ridiculously high here and there's no surprise as to why. Again they are very rude and should honestly not be in the health care business. Never walking through those doors!

Also to the one responding, no I would not disclose myself. They are known for retaliation which is sad and awful. Thanks.

My uncle is a resident here . He invited us to join him for the holiday party . It was a perfect opportunity to cheer him up and give him the opportunity to mingle with fellow residents. The party was beyond all of our expectations. The staff was so festive , the food was excellent and plentiful and the music was awesome. Bravo !!

The Family Celebration was above and beyond. Chef and kitchen staff were exemplary, activities staff super friendly. Administration Personnel including some dept.heads, went above all expectations. I feel comfortable that my loved one is cared for by you.

Rona is the pastry chef here and she is amazing!! Everything we have eaten that she has made has been wonderful. In the photo is an example…her homemade chocolate chip cookies. I don’t think you can find any that are better than this!
